"we live in Haler heights which is above Renzie Park. There are lots of sports, concerts, events such as rib fest, international village, fireworks, etc that take in the park. it has walking trails and a lake to fish and many pa illinois for rental. we are in a very nice residential area on the White Oak side of McKeesport. "
  • 2ccprzxy2q
"I believe your experience here depends on what you’re looking to get out of it. If you’re looking for a nice community of friendly neighbors, you can find that here."
  • Dane L
"It’s an alright city. Needs lot of support snd work done. The city is growing however. IVE been here all my life and I haven’t had any issues"
  • Sabolrosemary1953
"The area in Haler Heights is fantastic. Neighbors take care of their properties and watch out for each other. We are close to shopping and Renzie park is down the hill with concerts in the park, pickleball and tennis courts and deck hockey. A great neighborhood. It also has brand new walking trails."
  • Regina
"Neighborhood is quiet and neighbors are friendly. Close to grocery store and walking distance to family dollar for the little xtra"
  • Trulia User
"It’s very quiet on my street, without any road noise. I have a view to the woods that used to be a Girl Scout Camp. My neighbors are friendly and look out for each other. At night you can hear the periodic train whistles from across the river. All in all, it’s very peaceful. "
  • Trulia User
"The school district is considered good and the taxes aren’t terrible. The public works does a decent job keeping the roads clear in winter too."
  • Trulia User
"Not much. It’s an extremely small town, most people have lived here for many generations. If you didn’t grow up around here, expect to be ostracized. Most people that I’ve met have no common courtesy or manners. "
  • Marla
"This neighborhood has some very fine people that live here despite how the local news portrays it. The schools are not that good but quality and affordable private and charter schools are available."
  • Joe M.
"Fawcett plan is a good place to raise children. It's quiet and peaceful. You can enjoy walks and bike riding. It's a real neighborly place. "
  • James R.
"not much because must of us own dogs or cats literally we have a pet friendly community i have 2 dogs and my major owns 8 cats the judge own a dog 2 doors down the police women across the street own 4 dogs right across from me she owns 2 dogs next to her they have 2 dogs on the same side of the judge he has 1 dog next to him he has 1 dog so as I said we have that all up and down this street "
  • Christinelimbers1975
"the park of Mckeesport I live in is quiet. kids come out to trick or treat. nice neighbors. Stores close by. Allegheny biking trail goes right through downtown McKeesport to Boston where it becomes more like a park than a city. very nice trails. some easy. some hills and harder. "
  • Nick H.
"crime filled area with horrible schooling.....I would not reccomend raising a family in mckeesport....theres murders every week hug drug area with alot of addicts just roaming the area had multiple vehicles broken into right outside of home......"
  • Steven R. S.
"It’s not too bad, not as bad as some people say it is. McKeesport is marred from the senseless criminality within its area. Could definitely be a decent neighborhood with a few changes. Namely getting rid of the worthless units that are destroyed"
  • Tyrajarae
"It’s is very dirty I wouldn’t even allow my dog to sniff around on the ground all types of drug paraphernalia used needles things like that."
  • Regina
"Most of the dogs you hear are in backyard so they don’t have to worry about dogs running around loose in neighborhood."
  • Steven R. S.
"Cool except for poor street conditions. I feel McKeesport gets a bad rap. It is really a pretty decent neighborhood. Remember bad happens everywhere...it’s how you handle it that matters"
  • Teresa S.
"we have Recreational activities at the Recreation center..........might need more tho cuz there are only a few. "
  • Diana M.
"Renzie park spray duck pond play ground and all the summer events during summer and the rose garden."
  • Julaine M. W.
"McKeesport is a diverse area and has a strong family background rough times and dire circumstances have hit this city yet the Education and Sports programs have held to the hard working steel Valley ethic ....industry and cutting edge technology would sky rocket in this community "
  • Tracy H.
"I drive, and stay inside my home where it is safe. I would not recommend this town for anyone especially people with children. it's not a very safe neighborhood anymore. "
  • Cat30
"Halloween (With a fire truck going up and down streets) and a fall festival in the fall at the local Catholic Church"
  • Kbgannaway
"it's a long trip to Pittsburgh but living here makes it worth the drive! It's beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and everyone I've met is warm and friendly."
  • Jamie G.
"Mckeesport is so run down now, they’ve been tearing down vacant broken down houses for two years now! I just wonder if they’ll build new ones just a lot of open fields now! "
  • Jamie G.
"I always see people walking their dogs some are trained but some bark at you wildly so I always end up crossing the street "
  • Tamarraw J.
"I love how dog owners around here only walk nice dogs are and some are very polite. The dislikes about dog owners I don’t think they’d appreciate people treating their dogs unfairly "
  • Makayla.miller97
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for one year. It’s not as nice as everyone said it was. We’ve had someone try to break into our house and they also stole our truck."
