About this House

Waterfront property on the Great Neck Point. Come to sunny North Carolina. This house and property has million dollar views. This 2 1/2 acres has the Neuse River to the left, the Intra-Coastal waterway from the right and the Pamlico Sound to the North East. It is across from the sail boat capital of the East Coast, Oriental, North Carolina. Enjoy the colorful sailboats or watch the sun rise and the sun set on the water. Take a boat ride to historic New Bern, via the Neuse River, beautiful Morehead City and Beaufort, via the intra-coastal waterway and Cedar Island via the Pamlico Sound. The property includes a concrete dock and a private deep water boat ramp. You can sit on the dock and catch red drum, black drum, croaker, trout, spots, tarpin and many other types of fish. For the avid fisherman, you can set gill nets or crab pots.  At night, walk down to the water and go flounder giggin. The house is surrounded by 2 acres of fenced in property which is great for little ones or furry friends to play in. It has a 4 bedroom approved septic system. Directly in front of the 2 acres is a 1/2 acre lot on the water located with an address of 1500 River Dr.  This lot is not fenced in and has a 2 bedroom approved septic system.  The property comes with a shallow well, deep well and county water which is connected. If you have a green thumb, enjoy growing plants, fruits and vegetables in the 12 x 10 green house year round. If you like working outside, the climate and soil in the area allows for 3 growing crops per year.  The house is a 2 story T-ranch which is well insulated with 6 inch exterior walls. The ceilings are 9 foot ceilings with 5 inch crown molding throughout. The 2nd story is unfinished, with limited electricity, but does have the flooring down with a full set of steps leading up to it. The electrical, plumbing and heating/air connections are in place if someone wants to finish it. This area would make a great area for another bedroom, bathroom and game room. The floors are tongue and groove hard wood floors throughout the house with tile in the bathrooms and kitchen and marble at the entrance. The covered front porch is 8 x 10 and has access to the house and the closed in porch.  The closed in porch is L shaped and covers 2 sides of the house - front size 20 x 9.3 and side size 14 x 7.5 and can be accessed from the front porch, the kitchen or the side deck.  This porch is heated and aired and includes 7 sliding glass doors that can be opened to enjoy the cool water breezes on a screened in porch atmosphere. Step from this porch to a giant side deck - 21 x 12 - to BBQ or entertain on while enjoying the beautiful views of the water.  The back deck is 6 x 8.  The living room has a corner stone fireplace with gas logs (outside vented). The kitchen has maple cabinets, tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances and a breakfast nook or eat in area that you can look out at the water through attrium doors. All of the bedrooms include walk in closets with the Master bedroom having 2 walk in closets - a his and hers. The Master bathroom has a garden tub, a separate shower with glass enclosure and double sinks. The detached double car garage includes an automatic garage door opener complete with key pad entry and individual remote controls. There is an extra carport built on a concrete pad that attaches to the garage which is 13 x 25.7. The garage houses a lot of shelving for storage, fishing rod storage, a back door and a separate small room built within it for out-of-sight storage. There is a 12 x 12 - 2 story workshop/storage building which includes 3 lean-tos that wrap around 3 sides of the building. These lean-tos are sized as follows: 11.7 x 24, 11.7 x 24 and 35 1/2 x 11.8 and provide excellent protection from the elements for boats, jet skis, 4 wheelers or whatever other type of toys you have. So come to one of the most beautiful places in North Carolina and enjoy the views, wildlife and serenity.  House still has a remainder

"We are a military based community, many activities are posted and enjoyed. However, there are very few amenities such as good food doctors available for the community not enough of them so aged people are going to suffer. We don’t even have an EMT or children "
  • Melissaweismer
"The town has become run down on the main strip. Roads are over crowed when driving around. Lots of crime. "
  • Csarchet55

  • Chris K.
"There are parks but they’re not that great and they’re not that close. You have to drive to the parks in the area."
