I would not recommend Lakewood Ranch High School. The administration consistently fails to communicate important information to parents. For example, a PSAT practice test took place this past weekend, yet there was no notification from the school. only a last-minute post on Facebook the night before. This lack of communication is unacceptable and shows a disregard for parents who are trying to support their students’ education.The principal appears more interested in projecting authority than in ensuring parents are informed and engaged. That tone sets the standard for the rest of the administration, which seems indifferent to the needs of families or the education of the children.Beyond the poor leadership, many teachers struggle to manage student behavior effectively, resulting in classrooms that are often chaotic and unproductive. The level of actual learning taking place is disappointingly low.The school’s strong test scores are likely a reflection of the surrounding community, many families are well-educated and well-resourced, so students receive academic support and enrichment outside of school. That success should not be mistaken for the school’s own effectiveness.It is a shame that a school with such potential is undermined by weak leadership, poor communication, and ineffective classroom management. Parents deserve better, and so do the students.

My daughter truly enjoys attending this school and looks forward to going every day with a smile. As she is in VPK, I deeply appreciate the staff’s attentiveness and the genuine care they show by personally escorting her to her classroom each morning. Her teacher is wonderful — caring, patient, and truly dedicated to the children’s development. As a parent, it gives me great peace of mind to know that my daughter is in such a loving and supportive environment. I am sincerely grateful for all they do.

Beware of your child has a 504 or IEP. They don’t care about children with learning disabilities it’s always parents and child’s fault, never the teachers. If I had the financial option I would homeschool or private school.
