We would be considered those "outsiders" that they wee ole time folks don't welcome...as some would think. However, I have experienced just the opposite. My children were welcomed with open arms and made friends with those whose ancestors have been here in this town for generations. As for us as parents, I will and have associated with several other parents with no problems. It's all about perception and the willingness to accept change...which isn't always bad!

The idea is that such a small school helps keep the classrooms small and more engaged. There are several classes that have near 24 students as they can't justify splitting a grade into smaller numbers as the kids get into third grade. Accessibility for the students with diverse needs is hard to motivate the district to meet, situationally it could be costs as they try to stay town funded. Because of the nature of being such a small setting their is definitely not a lot of experience with "different" which may cause a few issues. Some teachers are incredible to work with and will focus on adaptive learning techniques and teaching styles. A few are less on board. COVID highlighted this in a number of ways.
