"Whether it’s driven by the historic architecture, the walkability to daily essentials, or the strong bonds forged between longtime residents, these elements create a distinct local character. The uniqueness of an area usually stems from a combination of these elements: neighborhoods often feature resident-led initiatives, community gardens, or local events that foster strong connectio"

  • Lynne
"I’ve lived in Los Angeles County my whole life. There are great, safe locations and not-so-safe ones. As an 20-year-old I started living alone in a studio apartment in Studio City. Never had any issues. My biggest recommendation, get a place that has gated parking or else you might find your catalytic concert stolen!"
  • H7gjgkznp4
"We’re close enough to the entrance to the 101 at both Canoga and Topanga Canyon. To be convenient but far enough not to be noisy or dangerous. "
  • Reuben Walton
"This neighborhood is so vibrant and beautiful and has a great artsy vibe that is naturally stunningly alluring. "
  • Alex K
"Beautiful neighborhood with charming shops and great gardens "
  • M. Ayer
"An “old fashioned” family oriented neighborhood. Everyone knows neighbors. Kids play in yard. We all look out for each other. "
  • Trulia User
"Great city with many beautiful places and people. Delicious restaurants and always something fun and creative to do. Overpopulated but with a lot of history and heart. "
  • M. Ayer
"We’re like an “old school” neighborhood. Know all the neighbors on street and many from adjacent streets. Gather in front yards during summer. Great support"
  • Selina MacDonald
"Live music, dog parks, open mic nights, vegan food, karaoke, the creatives in this city are diverse and progressive. "
  • Melorin
"Most of the events are held at topanga mall. You can see their calendar online. For trick or treating we go to calabasas and also Agoura Hills. "
  • Jose
"lots of different neighberhoods here, it's difficult to raise grounded kids here, not for the feint of heart, but beautiful place to live full of life"
  • Zambranab16
"The area is great and the neighborhood is normal good quality persons here many parks schools and safety places for child’s and everybody "
  • Cole
"South Park is great as it offers proximity to the restaurants, businesses, entertainment in DTLA, but feels less crowded/congested. The sidewalks are a bit wider, especially great if walking a dog, and the Business Improvement District staff are friendly, almost always around, and helpful. They help keep the streets clean, but also for the most part people in the area a generally mindful of picking up after themselves or pets."
  • Abelardo Romero
"Small streets and there are not too many food vendors which would be nice to have. Also we need more cafes !!"
  • Amy Kang
"There are not enough sidewalks and most people don’t walk outside. And the weather is much too hot. "
  • Ken Cunningham
"There’s a lot of good sidewalks but the yards are very small so it can be difficult if you have a large dog"
  • Whiskee888
"The Hollywood Hills and views. Places to walk/hike. There’s lots of free concerts in certain parks. "
  • Cissy Worstell
"Not the most walkable neighborhood but it's cleaner than most. But a lot of people walk their dog and have kids."
  • Roberto Schein
"What your kids. It can be safe, but you can’t assume that it’s always safe. It’s your responsibility to make sure your kids stay safe. "
  • Mike
"Toluca Lake is a village. Residents can walk to buy their groceries, shop for gifts or or grab coffee with friends. The village makes it easier to meet people. We have great restaurants too. Halloween is a very big deal here. Houses are so beautifully decorated, trick or treaters come from other communities just to enjoy the spectacle. We have an annual Turkey Trot at Thanksgiving, a Christmas Open House and a Christmas Eve truck full of carolers. And there really is a lake in Toluca Lake. It’s just takes a little maneuvering to catch a glimpse of it."
  • Ozratzon
"I see dog owners walking their pet all the times, it safe, clean and convenience for them to do it in the neighborhood. "
  • Mitzi Spallas
"Many people have dogs in this neighborhood and we all walk them all of the time. I’ve met so many lovely people while walking my dogs in the neighborhood. People also really care about their pets around here and we never see animals that look neglected or mistreated. "
  • Jaykaysunday31
"It is a crime area but not high crime neighbors respect each other we can walk our dogs freely just please pick up after your animals"
  • Svipkhaiko73
"Merry Christmas , 4 July, fitness, market, park, shopping center, school, library, movie theatre , music, banks, restaurants "
