"One of us is 5 minutes away, the other works from home. Our home is 5-10 minutes from many restaurants and stores. "
  • Dread27
"Need a vehicle to access most areas of Ottawa. Walking is an option, due to many sidewalks. Ottawa is limited because of only one bridge crossing the Illinois River. The Northeast side of town (where the High School located) is also limited because of only 2 ways in and out. Currently it has only 1 way due to construction. "
  • Meredith Martin Olsen
"Small local business and lots of churches to pick from based on your religious beliefs. Neighborhood is quite "
  • Jessica W.
"Every Christmas Eve the neighborhood lights luminaries. We are a close knit community. Neighbors are very gracious to one another."

  • Lisa C.
"we have neighborhood bbqs, the town has family friendly events most weekends, lots of parks, family restaurants"
  • Jess M.
"Sometimes there’s a festival or an event that blocks off roads and sometimes you don’t know when they’re happening so it’s a major inconvenience when you try to get to work and there’s a lot of traffic and no one moving. "
  • Kendra S. M.
"Close knit community. Lots of festivals throughout the year. Wonderful local restaurants. Friendly city! "
  • Jess M.
"There’s a lot of other dogs so if your dog doesn’t like other dogs just be careful. Everyone picks up after there animals pretty well and most of the dogs are nice. A lot of them end up being aggressive with your dog but other than that it’s a lovely place for your dog. "
  • Charity P.
"Fireworks show is the best in state of Illinois for the Fourth of July everyone pitches in for the show to be better each year "
  • Crashdummy

"I have been living here for the past 14 years. It is the closest thing to country living. Anything you want is nearby. Raised the kids and grandchildren out here and feel like we made the best decision by moving to this area."
  • Felix A. L. O.
"Location cannot be beat. Lovely area filled with unique styles of homes. Not a cookie-cutter development. Quiet, peaceful and friendly. Great mix of people of all ages. Well maintained homes make the North side a sought after location. Believe it or not, there are people who actually did not know this area of Ottawa exists. Close enough to the downtown area if you choose to take a nice walk to the riverfront. Good caring neighbors. Cannot emphasize enough how nice and tranquil it is in this area. Great School District, close to all churches and Ottawa Regional Hospital and Medical Center. Definately a lovely place to live. "
