"Great quiet hill country place with views and friendly folks. Lots to do and unique restaurants and stores. "
  • Trulia User
"The elevation changes, whitewater amphitheater, the Guadalupe river and visitors during the summer. Also there are a lot of local bars"
  • Nanvalles85
"I have lived in Tanglewood Shores for over 3yrs and it's great! I love how quiet and safe it feels. I love taking walks and seeing all the cool farm animals people have . There are at least two Airbnbs/ short term rentals on my street alone but there are plenty more. I really like not "really "having an HOA because you can really do whatever you like with what you purchased! The HOA says you can't have these rentals but I've never seen them enforce it, also HOA fees are nothing so that's probably why they don't . Living near to the lake is also great ! People here are very nice and accepting of new comers . The area seems to be growing in a good way !"
  • Meganwaldrup
"I’ve lived here for about a year and love being away from everyone and everything. My dogs have a lot of space. The lake is fun, people are chill, and it’s beautiful. I wish I never had to leave"
  • Sara
"Too many dogs allowed to run loose. Not as bad as it was but you still see the occasional loose dog. "
  • Kvara87
"Quiet area, large lots for kids to play, friendly neighbors. Small towns have a slower lifestyle. Your neighbors will chat with you at the grocery store, people are involved more. "
  • Joe M.
"I’ve lived in this area for 2 years. Most folks mind their own and there are no noisy neighbors. Never see or here cops in this area. Very nice quiet neighborhood perfect for country living. "
  • Joe
"Nice quiet community. Large wooded lots. Wildlife. Good schools. Close to grocery with great customer service."
  • Garcjj
"not like loose dogs, irresponsible owners. I don't care about this question, so I'm just typing away."
  • Askullz6996
"been here for 4 years great friendly people you can count on limited food options but that's ok for the deer every morning in my yard"
  • KelliKersey
"We have one of the best 4th of July parades. Canyon Lake has several groups that take care of the elderly aand handicapped. We'r love our neighbors. "
  • Krissy B.
"This is a wonderful place to raise small children. I love the pool and the lake parks. We do not have a public playset but there are lots of growing families to visit and play with each other. "
  • Carey J.
"Commute is by car only and averages around 30 minutes to many places including work. There is no public transport that comes out this way. "
  • Kwaite1969
"It is a great community. Very kind and friendly neighbors. Very hilly so be prepared for sttep climbs. "
  • Adelineaustin66
"a great place to walk your dogs. very quiet and not too much traffic. canyon lake is a great place to live. I've lived here for 5 years and i love it. I've never had anything stolen. "
  • Jennalann
"people are aggressive towards animals. my neighbors have threatened my animals before. lots of places to take them out though"
  • Chelseamaler
"a lot of people let their dogs roam free and/or their dogs get out of their yards a lot. many lots aren't fenced in so dogs might be on lines in the yard. I always was all my dog on a leash and keep an eye out for loose dogs that might harm my dog"
  • Inessamaslova i.
"The school bus stops right be the house, however in the evening it is too dark to play outside. The are is very safe though. Neighbors know each other well, we leave all the things in the open and never had anything missing."
  • Thedaveszone
"I’ve lived here 4 years. Love and enjoy the lake, yet many neighbors are disconnected and no real first name basis community feel in many areas "
