My kids instantly didn't like this school. I personally witnessed a lot of biased and prejudiced interactions when we took them in for their 1st day. Children being spoken to in a demeaning manner and the usual suspects as staff to these minority children. The school might me shiny and new but the teacher morale is low and teaching quality subpar. I have 2 well behaved students and the teachers there punish and sermon the whole class for a few problem students, taking away recess and any rewards they are trying to earn as a class. Furthermore this school doesn't do parent teacher conferences (principal keeps claiming as a parent we can schedule as we please but the teachers don't get back to you when you request one)and teacher rarely let you know what is going on in the class of what your kids are learning and when you reach out to them they dont reply or take forever to reply. Also the behavior in playground is apalling, a lot of rough playing that my kids aren't used to and should not be tolerated (very rough play, such as kicking, punching). One of my kids was punched repeatedly by a student and the school claims it was a "roblox" game thing, my kids doesn't play that game and clearly said it was one sided and asked the other kid to stop. My son couldn't get help because the teachers there are always on their phones and the cameras are so dirty you cant even make out the color of the kids clothing that's how awful they are. Also my kid from October to Winter break was only learning shapes with no signs of being taught to read at all. Then his teacher resigned immediately before Winter break. Another concerning thing is they seem to have a large majority of one religious group and therefore they impose weird things. They don't even have Fall, Winter or Valentines day parties but my kid was told during a brain break activity that the whole class couldn't listen to music because it was Ramadan. My son is not of this religion so asking my son to not partake in something completely innocent is very concerning since they go further than not celebrating typical Christian holidays and don't have parties at all. I've also witnessed a teacher yelling unhinged at PREESCHOOLERS because they werent walking fast enough, I reported them. Staff is mean and overall unpleasant in the office and the kids faces show they hate it there. I have so many more instances of incidents, I would say just save yourself the grief and take them somewhere else.

My daughter was attacked in the school. She momentarily responded to the attack and got suspended for 10 days. She was in a fight or flight response. There are lots of fights in the school. The school covers them up. They made several attempts to change my mind about pressing charges and filling a police report. As far as giving me false information about filling a report. Even threatened me if I were to file assault charges against the student then they may increase the punishment of my child. There are many better schools in the area. NKC is second to last.

Well, okay. Our school is OKAY. it's not terrible, we have free entertainment, front row seats to the fights in the hallways! So that's a plus, there's also fairly easy work. The homework is minimal, greatly appreciated. I LOVE CHOIR!!! THE TEACHERS ARE AMAZING! Gym class however, we spend more time sitting than doing physical activities. Dodgeball is more like, "stand around" ball. The speech and debate team is very fun! HOWEVER. Our school seems more interested in buying fancy floor mats than fixing the numerous broken seats in the auditorium. We also seem to waste money on sports, while the theater department has hardly any money. ALSO, this school is very questionable for their lunch times, or should I say "brunch?". The earliest lunch is at 10 AM. with TWENTY MINUTES TO EAT. It is also very cold in the lunchroom, please note that I do NOT want hypothermia. I would greatly appreciate this school making some changes to that, but if not, I understand. 7th grade was fun. 8th grade is okay. Thank you for reading and reviewing my review!
