My son is in first grade and his kindergarten teachers ms Elisa and Ms Kendall and Ms lopez are amazing the boys and girls club are amazing but his first grade teacher has spent two days messaging me trying to convince me that a song that all the students sing to each other was meant racially from my son due to him having lighter skin.which is crazy considering everyone on his dad's side is tongan and black. I feel that she is pushing her unconscious bias on my 6 year old child I had asked her repeatedly to stop making it a race thing I feel the principle listens to entertain u but really when it comes to taking action she does as only she sees fit with no consideration outside of her view thank God for Ms Erica in the front she is what holds that office afloat she treats everyone the se and her interaction with students has always surpassed those of her peers Can't wait to transfer

I am incredibly grateful to be able to send our kids to a public Montessori TK-8. Our oldest is now in his middle school years, and our youngest is starting her first year of the next decade there. By the end of it all, we will have spent 18 years at this one school - pretty wild, huh? I wanted to share a snapshot of what my middle schooler is learning as a part of his adapted Montessori curriculum - as there are public education curriculum requirements to be met, there is some adaptation but still a lot of bringing the Montessori philosophy to life. A pillar of their middle school curriculum is creating a micro-economy where they are bringing to life the Montessori plane of "contributing to the world" and raising funds to go on an end of year class trip. I think this year they are targeting a visit to the state capital. Enhancing Social Skills & Collaboration- practicing teamwork and shared decision making- learning to delegate tasks based on individual strengths- developing conflict resolution strategies- negotiating roles, schedules, and responsibilitiesUnderstanding Economic Systems- exploring budgeting for materials, supplies, and future investments- tracking income and expenses to learn about profit margins- understanding how prices, demand, and competition affect business- learning about ethical production and consumer responsibility- experiencing the connection between labor and valueBuilding Self-Sufficiency- solving real-world problems with creativity and resourcefulness- taking initiative without waiting for direction from adults- learning skills that have practical and economic value- making decisions based on needs, goals, and ethical considerations- developing adaptability and perseverance when plans changeDeveloping Responsibility- learning how to manage time effectively- being accountable for their role within a group enterprise- practicing financial responsibility with real money and resources- experiencing the natural consequences of their decisions- developing follow-through and commitment to long-term projects(ran out of space but there are others!)These are such important skills for kids to build, test, and grow their self confidence, toolbox of skills, and scientific method-driven mindset. I can't say it enough - THESE are the skills that humans need to master in an AI-first world. If we ever needed a map for how to prepare our kids for what lies after the knowledge economy, this is it.

Im currently on lockdown and I really think that they should step up their game. I mean cmon its the 2nd to last week of school and I'm currently wearing a suit. How am I supposed to run if I need to? Also the school food could be a bit better, I mean most of the fruit isn't that ripe. I might be allergic to Pineapple since my tongue get tingly when I eat it but I keep eating it anyway. About that lockdown, its been about 30 minutes since we had to run back inside. My back hurts, but maybe thats because I slouch and I have scoliosis. I got it from having to carry a shoulder every day for 2 years in Bowditch Middle School (would not recommend going there too.) I like the teachers and I will say, Mr. Chen does a good job keeping us safe. He also gave out free chips and chocolates, which is better than many airlines and events i've been to. Why are airlines so bad at customer service? And how is a music teacher doing better at taking care of people in an emergency situation than United Airlines? Actually never mind, Aragon is a great school, and the airlines need to learn about customer service from them. Oh, the Wi-fi in this school sucks too they should do something about it. Do you guys think I should get a perm? I've been researching about them and I'm starting to think about doing it.
