While the teachers are great, the principal of this school is very ineffective. He does not know how to run a school, and treats people not on his "list" like dirt. He needs to retire and make way for someone who knows how to be a leader, and will support all faculty and staff.

Both of my children had the privilege of attending Lee F. Jackson Elementary School in the Greenburgh Central School District. The school is an International Baccalaureate school that honors the principals of the IB. Teachers are dedicated and the learning is rich. The families are wonderful and the school offers many opportunities for family engagement.

As a parent of two children in the district, both in Bailey this year, I continue to be happy with the offerings in GCSD and, specifically, at Bailey. The district follows the Princeton plan, so instead of neighborhood schools, there are schools for certain grade levels. Bailey is a building for 4th-6th graders and I find the combination of these ages to work well. Some of the highlights of Bailey include the after school clubs that students get bused home from and the band program. The academics are strong and my children are happy to go to school each day. Currently the school follows a team teaching approach and students switch teachers for half their content area classes and then walk to their specials independently where the students on the grade level are mixed again with their peers for art, music, gym, home & careers, language, band, library (I think I covered it all!). This is a nice starting point for building academic independence so that the students are better prepared for the transition to Woodlands MSHS. Before sending my children to this building, I had heard the terrible rumors of the transition to Bailey (and GCSD in general) and, in my experience, everything I had heard was not even close to true - we love this district and are so happy to be a part of this fantastic community.
