Description

Built in 1907/1908, this Colonial Revival Foursquare is one block from Hagerstown's large Fairgrounds Park (and the dog park within it). The house is also within walking distance of the historic downtown with its many restaurants, Cultural Trail, and Maryland Theatre. This home is part of the Potomac-Broadway Historic District.

Its exterior features a large front porch and first- and second-floor porches on the back. New front stairs and front porch railings were built in winter 2022. The house sits on a raised stone foundation and is built primarily of brick. The exterior features wood trim with dentil mouldings. New half-pipe gutters were installed in 2014. In 2017, a new vinyl fence was installed, fully enclosing the back patio.

The house is over 2,300 square feet with original hardwood floors throughout and a tiled kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room. Both bathrooms were fully renovated in 2021. The third floor finished attic space can be used as a fifth bedroom with a walk-in closet. The house has lovely period details including decorative wood trim, transoms with working hardware, original doors and knobs, several pocket doors, and an elaborate fireplace mantel. The spacious unfinished basement could be a perfect workshop. Washer and dryer are on the main floor.

    "Lots of people have dogs so I don’t feel bad walking my dog or if he barks. Everyone picks up after their dogs usually and there’s plenty of places to walk your dog. Also a big park near by for running with your dog. Every dog I have met has been friendly and so are their owners. I wish there was a fenced dog area in the neighborhood but there isn’t. Closest one is a few miles away. "

Beyond that there is the occasional yard sale but community events are few and far between in the neighborhood. "
