3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHow would you feel of you were called homophobic slurs, threatened on a daily basis, and nothing was done about it on top of that? Well congrats, that's what it's like at Bullen. I've only gone here for a year and I (unfortunately) am attending again this year. But I have seen things no teenager should EVER seen. Fights every week. Slurs left and right. Bullying is NORMALIZED. The principal doesn't care. I struggle with really bad mental health issues and this school and its community almost drove me to ending my life.People would constantly harass me, bully me, threaten to hit me, and make me feel like I am not person because I am apart of the LGBTQ+. I only because friends with 4-5 kids and mainly hung out with my teachers because they were the only people (besides my friends) who understood me. Besides the terrible community, the place is FILTHY. There is trash everywhere in every single hallway. Gum stuck in any place possible. There was even an ant infestation in one of the rooms. How do you even let that happen?As for the curriculum/content that we learn, it isn't all that bad. Some of the teachers could definitely use more work on teaching it but I passed with straight A's. It's incredibly easy for the grade and could definitely be harder in my opinion (compared to my old middle school), but I don't believe that is the teachers fault. The teachers do a good enough job. Each school teaches differently and that's on them.Overall, would I recommended sending your kid(s) to this school? Hell no. You could compare this place to prison. They were unable to provide a safe environment for my son or offer educational support.
