LOJ is pretty mid when It comes to schools. The 8th graders behave like mutant monkeys but they shove each other into lockers. Teachers are 10/10. best teachers ever. great choir and music programs. if your kid likes music, this school is for you. its fairly easy to find friends, but never join the popular kids. The choir teacher is the best teacher you will meet. Hallway is a mosh pit. 100% don't recommend walking in halls. All the teachers are broke, yet they still have enough to buy you donuts if you behave. 4/5 school.

The academics are exceptional at LOHS with a great array of AP and dual credit options. The students, at least the ones my kids are friends with, are highly motivated. While I am sure there are some drugs there it does not seem to be prevalent. All the teachers have been responsive to my email.

Our experience with this school’s administration was extremely frustrating and disappointing. While the school promotes multiple “layers of support,” the reality is a system buried in red tape that creates barriers rather than access — particularly for neurodiverse children and their families.Communication from the administrative staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Simple questions required navigating multiple people, repeated follow-ups, and unclear processes. Rather than collaborating with parents, the tone often felt adversarial, as though families were obstacles instead of partners.For a school that claims to support diverse learning needs, there was a striking lack of flexibility, empathy, and practical problem-solving. The structures in place appear performative rather than functional — more about checking boxes than actually supporting children who don’t fit neatly into a mold.Families with neurodiverse children should be aware that despite the language used in marketing materials, meaningful support is difficult to access and often blocked by bureaucracy. We expected professionalism, compassion, and collaboration, and unfortunately experienced the opposite.
