7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBuffalo Elementary used to be a good place to go to school. I was a student when the current "state of the art" facility was under construction, and it started going downhill after that. I will admit that the facility is nice, but that is really the only positive thing I can say. My main issue with this school (along with Freeport Area School District and public education as a whole) is their over emphasis on preparation for the standardized tests. If your child is a "learning support" or a "gifted" student, he/she will be very unhappy here. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTruly the most mediocre and overrated school I have ever been to. This school treated me like I was stupid and incapable of accomplishing anything in life. As the previous reviewer pointed out, the teachers are only concerned about good grades and not ensuring the students are learning anything. Most of the teachers in this school will not remember you after you leave at the end of eighth grade. Thankfully, the school district is making plans to build a new junior high.
