4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school itself is a mess. It's hard for student to take education seriously when there will end up being drama and issues going on with the way teachers and staff approach things. Especially in certain activities like phys ed where nonathletic students feel like they shouldn't be there because their not like the athletic ones. The teachers are there to teach but seems to be the problem is how some struggle to communicate with the students themselves. In the past there has been cases of bullying but although it has lowered there still comes a time where this may hinder another student from learning. Not everyone can get along but we should be able to treat everyone nicely regardless and help each other out if there's a problem. Littering is done all over the school and there are writings and unnecessary things found where they shouldn't be. Renovation could be used in some parts of the building since it's been years since another one has gone. Although education is necessary, students should be able to get the most out of their education and be interested in learning things that will benefit them in the future than to hear something that's pointless and out of context. More programs and activities should be introduce to make the students engage more than to do something they wouldn't enjoy. The smart and gifted kids who are in advance placement classes may overshadow students who are in college preparatory but this shouldn't let kids be just students who are working like slaves just to get a pointless letter on a grade. Everyone is smart and capable of doing something but this shouldn't discourage kids who want to be successful and stress out over something. With the way things are going now, it might seem fine to some but there are things that need to be improved upon since it's hard to take advantage of our education just because of the school and environment itself.Parent Review9y ago8 Reviews - Nellie K. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers aren't bad it's the administration they've harrassed me for appraching the teacher about my son and for telling them that the way they treat my child is unjust. They've made multiple demeaning comments to my child in front of my face, they hire personnel that are questionable at best and their demeanor to solving problems in the classroom is absolutely horrid is like they dont care they just like to say they do. I would never ever recommend this school to anyone it is a living nightmare and my child is having nightmares so bad he's affraid to wake up alone and has even started hiding in the morning with the prospect of not having to go to school. This school needs to be investiagted and/or the people in administration and management need to be fired as nothing other than the teacher works here.Parent Review1y ago16 Reviews - Hackensack Middle School

"It’s a nice area to raise kids. There are parks and sidewalks on most main streets. There are parts that are Main Street hustle and bustle. And also areas where it’s more quiet- it depends on where you go. But for the most part, every area of Hackensack is 50/50 In to that "

"It feels peaceful but I would say there is a lot of traffic. It can be scary to walk your dog. Just in case he pulls off leash. Otherwise I am very happy with the neighborhood. Also it’s a little dirty, go to watch you dog don’t pick something up "
