About this House

This two story 1640 square foot cottage style home is packed full of flexibility for any family. Entry way is very inviting and has a conveniently located coat closet right when you walk in, there is also another closet in the main hallway for additional closet space. The main floor is a open layout so you will never feel closed up in this charming house. Living room is spacious with a cathedral ceiling, it opens up the entire space and has a beautiful custom built mantle of maple wood with slate stone framing the gas fire place that serves as the focal point. Kitchen has quartz solid surface counter tops that were recently installed, all matching stainless steel appliances, maple cabinetry, and an island that adds extra food preparation space. Dining area gives ample room for a busy family, and both the kitchen and dining area have laminate wood floor. Right outside the sliding glass door extends dining onto the deck which overlooks a stone patio and a backyard filled with numerous pine trees. The laundry room is on the main floor and offers a large counter space and maple cabinet space. The quaint half bath is tucked away on the main floor just a few feet from the main living space. Large master bedroom is located on the main floor and has its own private full bath with a walk in closet attached. The two upstairs bedrooms are perfectly roomy along with its own full bath that has a linen closet inside. The upstairs loft overlooks the living room below and its big enough for a cozy office or sitting area for the kids. The recently finished downstairs adds 650 square foot living space and includes even more entertainment space with a nice sized family room. The family room can feel even bigger when the french doors of the adjacent flex room are opened. Use it for a game or fitness room or even a guest bedroom. The downstairs full bath has tile floor, rich dark wood vanity and solid surface quartz top. There's also a lot of storage space in the downstairs with a utility room, unfinished closet under the stairs and another closet off the family room where the sump pump is located away from the utility room which houses the rest of the mechanical. Since the house was built in 2008 the furnace and water heater are still in great working order. The entire house has modern brushed brass fixtures and much of it has an earth tone color scheme throughout, with creme baseboards and doors. Some flowers and plants are reserved along with garden boxes.

What I like about this neighborhood:
Its a great little community everyone is nice, friendly and welcoming. Its a good mix of young couples just starting their families, to older established families and retirees. In the spring the neighborhood has an annual garage sales event, also during the summer the neighborhood throws block parties on Fridays where everyone and their kids get to hang out and have summer fun. All the houses are well maintained and show pride in ownership.

What I like about the area:
Its quiet and away from hustle and bustle of the busy city areas of East Lansing and Lansing but yet still is close to all the shopping, restaurants, and other amenities. Dewitt has a cute small town feel and has some nice shops and restaurants downtown along with events such as the farmers market, classic car gathering and ox roast all worth going too. Also there is some nice parks in the area from a athletics park to the riverside park and the best thing about it is its all walking or biking distance. The schools are among the best in the area so there should be no worry in regards to your child's education.
