This school is in a very poor area with even poorer parental involvement both at home and at school, and the test scores show it. The teachers love the children and with the very small class sizes are able to teach very well. This school is a safe and positive environment for children to learn and grow. They do offer a full academic program including music, gym, art, computers, and library.

My children attended this school - and from some comments I have read, some people are just out to bash what they don't understand. All of my children went on to higher education, including Master's degrees, and a doctorate. This could not have been achieved without a firm base in educational principles. Granted, they each had some "sub-par" instruction over the years, but had enough self-motivation (and some parental prodding) to excel beyond what was presented in class. Some of the staff during their years was BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL. I firmly believe you will get out of your educational experience only what you are willing to put into it. This school offered opportunity to PARTICIPATE - if the student is willing to do the classwork to remain eligible. Had THE BEST music program in SW MO, top math program, top science experience - I don't claim this is "the best" school in the state, but I'd put it up against any other of its class (size) in all of southwest missouri! Ratings I would give below reflect the 80's, early 90's --- excellent principal, some great teachers.
