6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the best school in Western Montana. The teachers really care and the students are there to learn. When my daughter was 12 we were on a visit to Missoula and my daughter said to me "Dad I want to go to Helegate High". Surprised I said "why do you want to go to Hellgate"? "I don't know", was the answer. I said "we'll see what we can do".We were so impressed that we moved from Wallace, Idaho and brought a home near the Hellgate just so my daughter could go there. My daughter loved it. She became a STEM major and went on to study at Montana State Bozeman. While at Hellgate she joined the Hellgate Band and they were invited to play at Carnagie Hall NYC and the 75th battleship arizona memorial at pearl harbor. The Hellgate band is one of the top 10 in the nation. These are things that wouldn't have happened at another school. Hellgate High is a special place!Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Rattlesnake Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo not send your kids here for 5th grade. ..our maybe at all..Their best 5th grade teacher recently retired, and 2 of the three current 5th grade teachers are incompetent. They belittle their kids, play favorites, and claim parents should not believe their kids when they have issues with the teaching. This school is also unsafe structurally, per a local building engineer.. I'mglad my kids have left already, and feel a need to earn others. Don't drink the kioll aid they try to serve you in this district.Parent Review10y ago3 Reviews - Washington Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYou win some, you lose some; the losses, in this case, outweigh the wins. Communication is lacking, setting expectations for parents who are new to the community are even worse, and I'm not sure that all of the teachers actually know what it means to be educators in the fullest sense of the concept. Definitely behind the times when compared with other more populated or--for lack of a better term-- more developed, states. This encompasses their lack of modern understanding regarding discipline and neurodivergent individuals. Teachers staunchly dig their heels in on antiquated methods of "correcting" behavioral issues rooted in the underlying neurological conditions rather than making honest efforts to communicate with parents on such matters. A "three-star" rating is honestly generous and is based on the (few) amazing teachers that HAVE surfaced. Based on 80% of my interactions I'd be comfortable with assigning a single star.Parent Review4y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 131 Two.

"Busy street with a high speed limit. No dog parks near that have grass and is fenced. There is only one that is part of an apartment complex (not free to everyone) and it’s covered with rocks, no grass at all. "

"No neighborly events in this area, there is still a lot of lots that are being built on, so it's a very nice neighborhood and also is in the Frenchtown school district which is K-12 and is an excellent school and sports programs! It's pet friendly for the most part and pretty safe for kids, however the streets are not well lit and there has been thefts in the area, including car thefts! There are several major street/highways/interstates near by with fast speed limits and not any street lights so it's somewhat dangerous in my opinion when leaving to go into Missoula and neighbors usually keep to themselves for the most part! New developments are making residents that have been there awhile not so friendly and I prefer a neighborhood that is going to look out for one another! That's not here then there is also a lot of truck stops, casinos, and bars, and not any good places nearby to eat! It's a little noisy but not too bothersome once you get used to it! If you're not an animal person or kid person then this area is probably not the best!"

"commuting via bus, walking, and bicycle are all very easy and stress free. commuting via auto is pretty burdensome, because all of the streets in the neighborhood eventually end up at one of three major roads, and those three roads are all having congested during rush hour."

"In Missoula most persons love dogs. There is a fee for registering your dog in the city if you live here. There are tons of places to take your dogs on a walk or hike. A lot of rental places do not accept dogs. And if they do there’s a monthly fee. "

"The neighborhood is reinventing itself! Lots of older homes with a splash of apartments and duplexes. A few new homes. Ages are nicely mixed with babies and children's laughter and play to Grandma's and Grandpa's guiding their way. Free neighborhood movies on the lawn of headstart building, along with fresh popcorn. There is a co-op grocery and free garden plots to utilize. Parks, a soccer field, basketball courts and baseball field."
