5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to school here from grade 6-8 and the teachers do not engage in the environment healthily. There’s certain teachers that have definitely made a better impact on me than others as someone who graduated middle school a year ago. The environment is harsh and disgraceful, you aren’t considered welcomed unless you’re a white “attractive” male. I am a transgender student and got harshly bullied until eighth grade and the staff do nothing about it, and are far too worried about treating us all like children. The food is okay, has been undercooked or occasionally moldy a few times from my experience, but they provide free lunches. The current principal is extremely trusting and their counselors/psychologists are understanding.Student Review1y ago - Geneva High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn some cases, this is one of the best high schools in the area. It has a lot of AP classes and strong links to Hobart & William Smith. It has a large number of graduates that go on success in college and careers. On the other hand, the school is a very large reminder of the politics in the district. The school's former principal, who was a very strong and capable administrator as well as a devoted community member was denied tenure a couple of year ago for reasons that were mostly outside of his control. The faculty can be very cliquish here and show favoritism towards students or breaking appropriate teacher/student interaction guidelines. Discipline can also be a problem given the high poverty rate in the district, as well as freshmen coming in after being coddled in the middle school for three years. Administration almost has to run the school like a prison at times because of the discipline issues that sometimes arise. Is this a bad school?
