5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy eldest child went through this school and my youngest is currently enrolled now. I immediately must warn you….BEWARE of the assistant principal! She will speak over you if you have a concern and make matters MUCH worse. She’s a nightmare. I definitely recommend skipping her and going straight to the head Principal for your concern. He definitely takes care of business and will treat you with respect. Unfortunately this school has A LOT of kid drama. Just in this past 2 weeks there have been 6-8 fights. It got so bad that our kids called us to pick them up cause they were scared. I pulled up to a long line out the door of upset parents waiting to sign their kid out after lunch. School never called to let us know what was going on. It’s just absurd. When it comes to teaching, some teachers can be helpful and some are obviously there to get a paycheck. They don’t care. Don’t believe me… go check out the schools math rating. Last time I checked the percentage of students achieving proficiency in math is 29% (which is lower than the California state average of 40%). At what point are we not going to start blaming the teachers for this insane percentage? My youngest kid’s math teacher will not accept ANY late HW even if sick. I have a ton of college classes under my belt (100 units plus) and I’ve never encountered a teacher like this one. During the student teacher meeting, she either looked at me with a blank stare or just repeatedly said no with a smirk when I asked her if there was anything my kid could do to make up for it. I could go on and on about it but I’ll just leave you with this reminder….. there is a reason this school has a 3/10 rating. Can not wait till my kid is done with this school. Good luck to all you other parents and just pray your child can get through this school without feeling mentally beaten down.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews - Allan Peterson Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been a good school for my children. It IS the teachers that make this school a good school. I would have rated this school higher but when my 3rd grader started struggling in his class, I started asking him what was wrong at first he wouldn't tell me. But after he started leaving his classroom crying enough was enough. He was not that he was misbehaving. It was because he was stressed. He even told the principal this ( WITHOUT ME THERE) Even after having a meeting with his teacher things still did not change. I also found out that there were other children transfered to another class. I just felt like the principal is not taking these situations seriously. I had to teach my 9 yr old child that just because one person doesn't make him feel special does not mean it's true.CHILDREN ARE LIKE FLOWERS...IF YOU STEP ON THEM THEY WILL NEVER GROW.Parent Review9y ago7 Reviews - Merced High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is amazing. Definitely has some of the best teachers you can find. Mr. Abejuela has a pull-up bar in his classroom and challenges students not only mentally but physically. Mr. Dissalvo always presents both sides to any argument so we could form our own opinions and even let us debate in the middle of class often. Mr. Wendel wrote a song and sang it with his guitar for our class at the end of the year, it was hilarious! Mr. Graham was an amazing science teacher and made learning about moles and the periodic table interesting. Ms. Alvarez was the most passionate teacher who ensured that each and every student had the help they needed to pass her class. Finally, Mr. Rivero always had a smile on his face and being in his class, even during Saturday school, brought happiness.Student Review3y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 1293 Ahwahnee Dr.

"Merced station specifically is so amazing! So excited to be renewing here! This community has been a great place to live, and the by-bedspace leasing makes it easy for me to save money while focusing on my studies. The environment is comfortable, the amenities are convenient, and everyone here is genuinely friendly. I’m really happy to call this place home for another year! "

"I stay here part time. Close to get on N99. But to get here off freeway exit, then you have to take some back roads to get to Franklin. No freeway exit to Franklin Rd."

"It’s best to look for homes that are in city limits because there are islands in the city that don’t count as in city limits so they don’t have side walks or parks. "

"There are few small parks, but no dedicated dog parks and all dogs must stay on leash in the parks. The yards are on the small size and really only suitable for small breed dogs. "

"Merced i actually a pretty alright city to live in. There isn't a lot of social sites or things to do but the city is definitely growing and expanding into a nice place. The crime and violence has significantly decreased through out the passing years and the school all seem to do a great job with our education. It's definitely a much cleaner and nicer city than nearby areas like Fresno or Modesto. "
