My 7 year old daughter got transferred to this school back in march or so from Curvin McCabe and I don't like the way that this school is. It is nothing but full of bullies who get away with everything but they are the ones who cause the most problems. I have emailed, and sent numerous notes in to her teacher (Ms. Denning) only to be told that my daughter is basically the problem! Not only the teacher said this but the social worker did too (Mrs. Brady). My daughter never had this problem at her other school and had many friends there. She also had things that were taken from her and never given back that I, as a parent,paid for!! This school is full of inexperienced people and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that I know to sent their child to.

Having spent two years at Goff the teachers and the programs are very good, especially the music department. The school is kind of run down and some of the teachers might not teach as well as others, but the principal and teachers always work hard to bring a satisfactory experience to the students. Sometimes students believe some of the teachers are not teaching as well as they should and any complaints get acknowledged but I have personally never heard of any of these issues being addressed unless a parent contacts the teacher directly or contacts the principal.

As a student from Tolman High School, I can say from experience that if it wasn't for attending this high school I wouldn't be who I am today. Because of Tolman, I got to network and meet leaders in Rhode Island Criminal Justice System. Tolman gave me an internship in which I could of never imagined would make an ever lasting connection. Now I am in my Junior year of College studying law and proceeding to go to Law School after I graduate. Tolman is a very diverse school, and because of that I learned to communicate and work with other people of different races. Of course like many know, Tolman does have bad apples and people who don't care about their education. However, in my years at Tolman, every teacher motivated me and pushed me to my limits. The portfolio gave me a way to display my hardwork but also it prepared me for the workforce. I know that some students that graduated in 2010 with me can say the same. I have been asked to go back to Tolman and speak to the students about my experience and what doors it opened up for me. If any one does have any questions, email me. I'll tell you the truth.
