As a former teacher at Arnall, I witnessed things that are extremely disturbing. Teachers in 7th grade have their own adult "clique" and if you're not "with them" you're against hem in their eyes. I was obviously not part of that clique because I witnessed them being so mean and just downright hateful to more passive teachers. The teachers would talk about students in the most derogatory ways behind closed doors. When I brought this up to the principal (P. Sullivan). He suggested we have a meeting as a 7th grade team to discuss our differences---did he bother to even join this meeting and hear out his teachers' concerns. No. The issues never ended and I left. If you are a teacher looking to teamwork mentality and strong leadership, stay away from Arnall. Teachers do not thrive at this school. Also, once the Principal said we needed to stop writing office referrals for minority groups because their home-life was culturally different so we should be more tolerant of the disrespectful behavior. See, here is the tithing, when a minority student falls behind academically or is written up it affects the school's CCRPI and Sullivan only cares about how his school is "outwardly viewed."

I'm writing this review as a parent who has had 2 children attend White Oak K-5th. This school is horrible. They treat the children worse than prisoners. They are never allowed to speak to one another, they get silent lunch for weeks as a GRADE not just the individual students causing issues, they are constantly being told by administrators and teachers that they are "the worst", "awful", "disrespectful", and the latest from a 5th grade teacher "jerks" and "unkind people". Some, actually very few, teachers are fantastic but unfortunately they are quitting every year and their reason is always the administration. My children have perfect conduct grades and don't get in trouble. Yet they have always been punished and put down with the whole class or grade. What do you think that does to a child? Its horrible. If you're reading this in preparation to have your child attend White Oak, I beg you, please reconsider. Your child doesn't deserve the constant punishments and mean words for not doing anything but being present.

Isn't the worst.I'm a former student and didn't have the worst time at East Coweta, but there are moments that raise my concern.There was a moment with Lanave, an assistant principal—we ran into each other as I headed to the front office + she asked me where I was headed to, and I, with my teacher's permission, told her that I was headed to the front office to get a checkout note for the day. The conversation should've been left at that—I figure she believed that I was ditching class, so she decided to follow me to the front office and acted like she thought I was lost. I get that she was only doing her job, but acting on the presumption that I was ditching and following me around like a douce was not the way to handle things—that situation left a sour taste in my mouth.
