6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFirst impressions: Positive energy and lots of smiles in the hallways from teachers, staff, and students. Lots of decorations and spirit. Sadly, this year, I do not feel my child got what she needed in her classroom. I worried about her academically and physically. She made honor roll all year but she made only slight progress from last year according to her testing. I feel like she was not given a chance to show her full potential because she performed just good enough to meet requirements. She was also sick at times through the year and should have been sent to the nurse or home, but was not. She suffered with a burst eardrum one of those times. It bothered me deeply that her complaints of pain were ignored that day. Parent announcements are often sent out last minute, if at all, leaving parents pressed to rearrange work schedules etc or forced to miss the event. My child LEFT CAMPUS for a planned trip see CV FFA animals and I had no clue about it until days after the trip only because it was shared on social media. I asked why I wasn't informed -the teacher just forgot to tell me, though the rest of the class was informed some how. The disorganization is frustrating to say the least. I also wished there were more educational activities and trips outside the classroom. Recess is dismal and often cut short for various reasons including punishment. There's lack of play equipment and several things broken for months. They have a PTO but they don't do much besides give the kids candy and ask for money. I volunteered often hoping for positive changes. It was hard to be heard among the mean girl clique. Funds where never shared equally amongst grades. Out of $8k+ raised, PTO spent over $2,500 on fith grade graduation. There was nothing given to the other grades except candy. That seems incredibly unfair to the rest of the student body who donated. The PTO Seems very poorly ran and is not interested in improving student educational experience. It's truly another missed opportunity for students and staff. I had several concerns with the PTO and asked the principal for guidance on how to resolve. He never responded. Instead, another admin. was sent to interigate, intimidate and threaten me to be quiet. Paraphrasing she said " You need to learn to keep your mouth shut or I will personally make yours and your child's time here difficult". Threats are used often and freely at all levels of CV admin. My child won't spend another day in their care.Parent Review9mo ago6 Reviews - City View Junior/Senior High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have gine to city view for a few years now. Only because we are in this district. I hate this school and the way they discipline their students. They do not handle bullying and drug use on campus. I would not recommend this school to anyone. Hopefully we will move soon so i can take my kids else where.Parent Review16y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 129 Eldridge Ln.

"Dogs are always getting lose here. Everyday I see a lose dog and a unresponsive owner. The streets have no lighting except main streets. Many houses haven’t been upgraded since the 1979 tornado. "

"It’s the country and all neighbors have dogs. There is a neighborhood app in case any pet goes missing and all neighbors help each other find lost or missing pets. Even missing cattle or goats. Very friendly but neighbors respect each others property and privacy. "

"People walk their dogs all the time and all are on leashes. There are numerous stray cats so that could potentially be problematic. "

"Occasionally there is a block party, and a several of the neighbors seems to bounce around to each others houses for all night “cocktails” & partying on the weekends when the weather is nice. If, however, you are a Military Combat Veteran, and fireworks are a bad trigger for you, i would suggest moving closer to the center of town, where it won’t be such a fight to get law enforcement to come out and stop the illegal fireworks inside city limits, as this is more along the outskirts of the inside of city limits. Every year, more than one call, and still i have yet to see a cop show up or take the complaint seriously. We’ve been here 7 years, if that tells you anything. God Bless my spouse, he’s had to be hospitalized a few times because it is such a bad trigger for him. It’s the whole reason we are moving from here. All that being said, its a clean neighborhood, and most people are friendly. "

"For the most part we all know each other. I have neighbors that will watch my dog and swim in their pools. We also used to have block parties that were fun, but we all keep in touch with a neighborhood app. And everyone gets to contribute money to help pay for our landscaping. "

"Lots of people who’s dogs are always “getting out”. You’re expected to deal with it because the owners simply don’t know what else to do and just throw their hands up. You’ll notice all responsible dog owners walking with a large stick because this is such an issue."

"Southern Hills is a great neighborhood. The homes are all post 1985 south of Southern Elementary, and all our surrounding neighbors have been here an extended period of time. In my immediate proximity there are lots of kids and young established families that look after one another. We have owned this home since 2007, and have stayed here because our 8 year old loves her friends, neighbors, and her school."
