4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDEEPLY CONCERNED PARENT I am extremely disappointed with how my son’s recent incident was handled at this school. During lunch, another student repeatedly directed racial slurs at my son, threatened him, and escalated the situation physically. My son did not use profanity, did not threaten anyone, and only verbally questioned why he was being cursed at. Despite this, he was suspended for “being a disturbance,” while the student who used racial slurs faced no immediate accountability.What is even more troubling is the lack of communication from administration. The principal and vice principal failed to respond in a timely and meaningful way. No one has acknowledged the seriousness of a student being called the N-word multiple times, or the fact that my son was verbally harassed and provoked. This is not just a “discipline issue” — it is a safety issue and a civil rights issue.All students deserve a safe environment free from harassment, racial slurs, and threats. The way this was handled sends the message that victims of harassment will be punished while those who instigate it face minimal consequences.This school needs to take a very hard look at its disciplinary practices, its response to bullying and racial incidents, and its communication with parents. I truly hope they address these failures promptly, because no child should feel unsafe or unheard in a place where they are supposed to be protected.THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE FILED UNDER TITLE 6 they won’t..Parent Review5mo ago - Mount Pleasant Middle
