Sidewalks throughout. Voluntary neighborhood association ($25/yr) hosts social and informational events, has listserv that provides information about local events/issues, service recs, etc. Walking distance to Brookside Gardens, a county treasure (our neighborhood gets into Garden of Lights free one evening before they open every year!). Also accessible to the rest of Wheaton Regional Park, including horse stable (horses graze on a field next to the Old Randolph entrance to our community), ice rink, dog park, nature center, indoor tennis, and Shorefield Park, featuring one of DC area's top playgrounds, carousel, mini train, and yearly events such as a Halloween rides. Walking distance to Glenallen ES and Kennedy HS. Part of Downcounty Consortium, giving some school choice. Walkable/bikable to Glenmont Metro station, offering easy access to DC - the last stop on Red Line, so you can actually get a seat on the morning commute! Parking available at Glenmont Metro too. Close to Wheaton neighborhood, with its wonderful restaurants. Between busier, denser neighborhoods of Silver Spring and more suburban neighborhoods of Aspen Hill, neighborhood is close to the excitement, but has a little more room to breathe.

Whenever there is road work during rush hours there’s always a delay sometimes more than other especially on route 32 with sometimes major road work. Of late it has gotten much better because most of the work seems to be done. I must give the workers a big thank you for the exceptional work they have done even though the weather was so hot most of the time. Thank you from all the commuters of route 32. It is such a pleasure driving there now that it’s not that narrow and winding as before. Thank you workers for all your hard work. May God bless you and your family. "
