5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMajority of students here have a lack of drive and are not interested in learning. The staff and teachers do nothing to motivate students. There are a handful of really fantastic teachers but other than that it’s slim pickings. The counseling department as a whole Is utterly incompetent and overall horrible. As someone who came from a much nicer school district, this school is functioning behind grade level in all areas. The kids here are so behind developmentally and academically it’s actually quite baffling. There is really poor control over students. I see or hear of people fighting and doing substances on the daily. No serious actions are ever taken against students (expulsion) due to the lack of other schooling options. There is also a huge issue with favoritism in not only classroom environments but also in sports. If your family has money invested into the school or you and your family are “popular” staff show immediate favoritism. Favorite students also get away with virtually anything and negative actions taken by them are brushed under the rug constantly. I recommend quite literally any other school in the area.Student Review1y ago7 Reviews - Jefferson Lincoln Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbsolutely sucks had a friend who got pushed by a teacher this year and start yelling at the rest of my class without a reason and they do not care about self defense here or mental health and this school favorites people for sure if you're at lunch and you give your full attention to the staff all the other tables including the ones talking get releasedStudent Review11mo ago8 Reviews - Washington Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love the staff at this school, they are so sweet and helpful. It is rare to walk into a school and find that everyone is so great, but this is certainly one of them! The only complaint I have about it (and the reason I did not give it 5 stars) it needs a better Special Education program. My son has a minor learning delay, has been classified as special ed his entire time in the education system but the only program they had for him was to stick him in a class of severely disabled children. He was basically forgotten in the midst of the day-to-day chaos that would ensue (although, I absolutely loved his teachers because they communicated with me on a daily basis) and was not taught anything. He would also get scared by the way some of the severely disabled kids behaved. Otherwise, everyone in that school was/is fantastic. It is a shame to see some of these schools who have a staff that is there for all the right reasons not have the funding to offer what a minority of the kids need.Parent Review12y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 1225 Mellen St.

"Friendly, numerous well behaved dogs in the area. Dog amenities in the area. Generally quiet. All pets leashed. No wandering. A nice place. "

"Decent small town to live and raise a family. Who wouldn't want to live in the middle of somewhere, half-way between Seattle and Portland?"

"Nice, quiet town. Not much happens here unless it's a holiday, then it's just parties, picnics, and parades. "

"Just a great, friendly, clean neighborhood. I recently moved from the city to escape the crime and grime, Centralia quickly became and continues to feel like home."

"I'm newer to the area but find it convenient, inviting, and hospitable. It's a clean neighborhood with far less crime than the bigger cities, naturally. "

"Town is ok but not good schools. People are nice. There’s not as much homelessness but there’s drug abuse. Overall not severe violence"

"My neighbors are so helpful. Anytime I’ve needed a helping hand they have been there wether it’s been work on a vehicle or a run to the dump with all my trash on their trailer."

"Most dog owners are responsible in my neighborhood. On occasion though people allow their dogs off leash which is frustrating."

"Dog parks nearby. Have to buy dog tag nearly (basically a tax that the you pay the city every year, for owning each dog) which doesn’t apply if you live outside of city limits. A lot of people walk their dogs, and local shelter will post found pets on Facebook in case the owner follows them"

"Their dogs bark but they seem friendly. I wish their kids would stay out of my yard. Also, there's one lady that feeds a bunch of stray cats. Which I think is great but those strays come fight my outside cat for his food at night. I'd say that's pretty unique."

"Centralia is great. Sure there are some places you may not want to live but it is that way in any town. It's common to have deer walking around and birds chirping. This is a nice place."

"We have a local park and long with two separate parks for small dogs and large dogs. There at perfect locations and lots of room for my fur babies to run. One thing I would recommend is bring your own water. The park doesn’t have a close water source for the dogs. "

"I work across town. On average morning it takes me and easy 10 minutes to get to work. Traffic was at a very low time earlier in the day but as soon as school lets out it gets very busy. "

"My neighborhood is comprised of low cost apartments and a few single family homes. Lots of unfortunate homeless people frequently passing up and down our street. Not much crime in my neighborhood. People that are low income tend to not take advantage of each other. Everyone keeps to themselves There are no community parties, potlucks or bbqs in my area. It's a shame really! "

"not a good neighborhood at all. we've had several break ins in our shop. many things have been stolen. Drug infested homes all around us. this is why we are moving to a safer area of town."
