Don't get me wrong, Sunnyside is an alright school. We have good programs and stuff and sports, especially. But to be honest, this school is so boring, and there is always someone smoking in a bathroom somewhere. There is not much to do for fun anymore; the school is very bland with just brick walls and no fun. I wake up every day looking forward to having fun and learning, but it never happens. Some of the staff don't care about others' well-being.

This is an awesome school! I had a son who attended 4&5th grade, smart, very hyper. Instead of labeling him or trying to medicate him, they work around his personality, they say his skill as a helper so gave him things to do when he finished his work. I also had a daughter who attend 2nd & 3rd, Great teachers and my other daughter attended kinder. Love, Love, Love this school. When I did have policy issues, the principle investigated, researched and made changes that benefited all 5th grade students. Did I mention I love this school and the Vail School District.

Our child needs to be in IEP and needs additional support with writing and reading. The elementary school passed him to the next grade level even though he failed every course except music! In speaking with one of the counselors, we were told the schools have a "kick the can down the road" philosophy. I told them if he fails all courses this year, he WILL be held back and was told "good luck, you'll have a fight with the school superintendent. The teachers talk a good talk, but fail to come through. We stay on top of his reports on the computers, but seldom hear from the teachers unless we initiate the contact. We are in this school district only because we can't afford to move. Vail, Flowing Wells, or Amphi are better schools, much better rated.
