This is an overall good school. The teachers care, and my children felt safe there. My only complaint, and it isn't directly the school's fault, is the intrusiveness of the common core curriculum. The campus looks a little plain and worn, but they do the best they can with what they've got. It is the best elementary school in the parish, aside from Avoyelles Charter.

This school is not safe. Fights every day. My kids saw blood and violence here. Cursing and F-word in the halls all over the place, and no one does anything about it. My kid was bullied, and nothing was done. The grounds are old, which is fine, but it is also dirty, dingy, and smelly. Teachers are sometimes gone on leave much of the year, leaving unqualified subs to teach your kids. Taxpayers provided a new building for the campus and by the end of the first year after construction, it was damaged and they had to lock the bathrooms. Kids don't care, parents don't care, and teachers don't care. If YOU care about your kids, send them to Avoyelles Charter instead. One thing it has... a good shop class. If your kid is into woodworking or welding, they will be happy with that, at least.
