This historical, bargain-priced 6 bedroom, 6 bath, Victorian home was used as a bed and breakfast for many years. It could be a wonderful family dwelling, college dormitory, rental property, office building, or a multi-purpose event center for weddings, meetings, etc. It is known in Winfield as "The Baden House" and was lovingly built in 1885. The home has many of its original features such as wonderful hardwood floors, huge pocket doors, built-ins, stained glass windows, several beautiful fireplaces, and the staircase is breathtaking!
The damaged portions of the northeast side of the porch caused by a major storm in 2017 have been repaired. The price reflects its current value, below the reduced county apparaisal obtained after the storm damage. In 2017 when I purchased the home, its appraised value was over $210,000. After renovation, the property would be worth more than this figure so it represents an opportunity to preserve a historic gem and eventually to have a valuable asset.
The property has additional potential represented by the 4 lots. The residence sits upon 1 and 1/2 lots, and additional structures could be built as contemplated when originally purchased.
