Description

There is a huge picture window (about 6'x10') in the living room, a wall of windows and French doors in the kitchen, and large custom-etched glass windows (in a gorgeous southwestern design) in the bathroom, as well as deep antique cast-iron tubs. All of the doors and cabinets are made of hand-hewn cedar, and all of the hardware is made of beautiful antique brass and glass. (Most of the doorknobs were imported from Italy!) There is a Jenn-Air gas range and wall oven, a stainless dishwasher and refrigerator, Talavera tile counters, butcher's block counters, and a large porcelain sink in the kitchen. There are modern ceiling fans in the bedrooms and studio, and the light fixtures (including a 12-bulb atomic lamp in the entrance) enhance the home's mid-century character. It's a truly exquisite home, designed by Bob Barnes -- Tucson's Adobe King. The house is set well off the road on an acre of horse property with beautiful mature landscaping and an adobe and wrought-iron fenced back yard, as well as a very large raised porch (about 12x40) with Saltillo tiles, ceiling fans, and a massive cedar roof. The home includes a large detached garage built to the same standard as the house (adobe walls and cedar ceilings). The garage houses a back room that was once a tack room but could be used as a workshop. There is plumbing, a slab for a trough, and electricity from the former facilities. It would not be difficult to add horse facilities if a renter so desired. There is also a slab and electricity for a hot tub, should a renter wish to add one. The home comes complete with a CC-TV system and a home security system (with lots of extras, including fire, carbon monoxide, flood, motion, and door/window sensors/alarms), which can be monitored on-site by the renter free of charge. (Remote monitoring is available, but at the renter's cost.) Finally, the house is in the Tanque Verde School District, and its assigned schools are Agua Caliente (
), Emily Gray, and Tanque Verde High School. It is also within very close proximity (less than two miles) to Hermosillo Montessori charter school (one of Tucson's best), Agua Caliente Park (perfect for long walks along the ponds), and Milagrosa Canyon (a true hidden gem). $2000 per month for a two-year lease; $2050 per month for a one-year lease.
