I had no choice but sending both of my kids here. The bell schedule is horrible!! Some kids can't even remember the time to go to upcoming class:8:34-9:24Period 19:27-10:22Period 210:22-10:35Brunch13 min10:38-11:28Period 311:31-12:21Period 412:21-12:51Lunch30 min12:54-1:33Advisory/FLEX1:36-2:26Period 52:29-3:19Period 6Why such a an odd bell schedule?? can they just do the times which is easier for parents/students to remember??? And late start is a joke!! I want my kid to have a consistent schedule NO LATE START PLEASE!! There is no point of having start start days!! That doesn't help any parents who's working consistently with the same schedule everyday. Late start days would ruin their schedule especially the parents who work in the medical field. If i have any other choices, i would send my kid there NOT here at Columbia!! I would NOT recommend this school for new comers! Spend extra money and invest in other schools! I've never engaged with teachers nor staff at this school !!

The principal, Ms Romander, is absolutely amazing and she is so involved both with the teachers and the students. All of the teachers are top notch - the school has an incredible community feel where the teachers are looking at the whole student. We wish there were more schools like Fairwood everywhere in the country, but Fairwood is just so unique - go to an open house to see for yourself.

When it was time for my two kids to start high school, we heard a few mixed rumors, but our experience over the last couple of years has been absolutely fantastic. If you’re looking for a school that reflects the real world and has a super supportive, down-to-earth community, FHS is exactly that.The teachers here are seriously amazing and genuinely care about the students as human beings, not just test scores. My kids have felt so seen and supported by the staff. One of my kids joined the marching band, and I cannot emphasize enough how incredible that program is—it has taught them so much about teamwork, time management, and commitment. The school also has some amazing pathways like their CTE programs and engineering classes that actually let kids do hands-on, real-world projects instead of just memorizing a textbook.What I really love most about Fremont is the overall vibe. While a lot of the other high schools in the area can feel like hyper-competitive pressure cookers, FHS is wonderfully diverse and grounded. It feels like a place where kids can actually just be kids, figure out what they are genuinely passionate about, and still get a top-tier education. The parent community is also super welcoming and involved, especially when it comes to supporting the arts and athletics. My kids are thriving here, and we honestly couldn't be prouder to be a Firebird family
