I loved everything about this school! Of course nothing can be perfect but they staff really try to engage with their students and as a student you can always find a teacher to confide in.

TERRIBLE schooling experience as a parent and for my son; for the 1 time in MY life I felt super judged and even at risk of being involved with CS - my flaw being a single hispanic mom (I have 2 AMAZING kids A students) and NEVER have I felt so at risk and judged, Life happens and at times for a single parent the odd are a bit more challenging ADD the School as well. I COMPLETELY understand there’s “protocols” and “rules” but we are families with DIFFERENT backgrounds so being empathetic is something super important “I think” specifically when dealing with families and kiddos with different stories personalities backgrounds DEFINITELY I think is something that can be worked on that “staff-parent” approach team work makes the dream work and WE are raising humans NOT protocols and rules. HOWEVER the high school had a completely different approach and was more supportive.

My children have had a great experience at this school. Teachers, administrators, and the counselor work very hard at creating a positive, loving, caring school climate, and teach social skills, teamwork, kindness, and positive character traits. There is zero-tolerance on bullying, and it is quickly dealt with if it occurs. They have a system in place called PBIS--which helps reinforce positive behavior and focuses on teaching healthy ways to deal with conflict and emotions. My children are challenged academically. Class sizes are GREAT--well below the state average. They have a full-time Art, Music, and PE teacher that do a phenomenal job with the kids. MANY teachers have a Master's degree in their area, and are enthusiastic about their jobs, encouraging creativity and fun while learning. They genuinely care for the children they work with. The principal is approachable and willing to listen to parent concerns. There is an active PTA which allows parents to stay involved in their child's school as well. We love Donna Lee Loflin!
