Good school. Ofcourse ratings fluctuate. Have had some teachers that are better with my child than others. I will say that some scores may be down because of the large influx of ESL students. I firmly believe in no standardized testing before 3 Rd or 4 th grade. And my child is so good at math and reading and art etc.... but scored low when tested in first grade ....

"Very dog friendly area. Everyone walks their dogs and picks up after them and in general seems to be a very dog loving town. "

"I leave in nags head North Carolina and I really like it it’s really quiet and it’s really peaceful it’s nice place to be especially when you have kids it’s saved"

"I try to visit OBX twice a year. Great beach’s, good locals. Shoulder season is the best, not as crowded. Rental rates are much better as well. "

"Yes lots of dogs being walked and on the beach. I think dogs are really welcome. Have not found any anti dog except for owners who do not pick up after their dogs"

"We own a vacation home in Southridge and live there all summer. Southridge is a quiet community just 1/4 mile from the ocean, but on the western side of the bypass, so at least $100,000 cheaper than comparable homes on the eastern side. Lots in the newer section are 1/2 acre, so many people in those homes have private pools. Lots in the older sections are too small for pools. Most of the owners we have met are mid-50's or older; some are full-time residents, some are seasonal. Many owners who currently have their homes in a rental program intend to turn them into full-time or seasonal homes for themselves within a few years. This gives the community a neighborly, stable feel as compared to some where nearly all the homes are rentals. In the heart of Nags Head, the ocean beaches are a very short drive away, while the soundside beach behind Jockey's Ridge is within walking distance. Shopping, the Y (with excellent exercise facilities), restaurants, and the hospital are all very close, yet the community has a quiet, secluded feel to it. We love it and are so glad we chose to build here."
