I have extensive knowledge of this school and its history, and it genuinely pains me to leave a review this critical. However, the current state of Double File Trail is the most concerning I have seen during my time connected to the campus.The biggest issue facing the school is leadership. Under Principal Lily Dreher, there has been a noticeable decline in staff morale, accountability, and overall direction. Many highly valued staff members have left in recent years, and that level of turnover speaks volumes about the current climate.Looking at TEA accountability data, there is a significant difference between the Exemplary ratings and A accountability scores the school achieved in previous years compared to the C rating it currently holds. The trajectory is concerning, and without meaningful changes, there are serious questions about where the school is headed.That being said, there are still outstanding teachers and staff members at Double File Trail who care deeply about their students and work hard every day to provide a quality education. Unfortunately, strong educators can only do so much when leadership issues and a lack of accountability create an environment that leads to frustration and burnout.I truly hope the school can return to the standard of excellence it once had. The students and dedicated staff members deserve better.
