About this House

Please do not inquire unless you have a decent amount of plumbing and contractor/hardwood and tile flooring experience or are willing to pay someone else to do the work. Are you looking for a quiet place in the woods to retreat from the noise of town... yet still be less than 12 minutes from Harrisonburg, shopping and restaurants? Sit on the screen-porch out front and listen to the sounds of the river in the front yard. Grill on the built-in real river-rock stone grill on the stone patio out front of the house. THIS HOUSE NEEDS WORK. WE GET LOTS OF INTEREST BECAUSE OF HOW LOW THE PRICE IS, BUT PLEASE DO NOT INQUIRE IF YOU'RE UNABLE TO WORK ON FLOORS (HARDWOOD) AND DO TILE WORK OR PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT. This house needs a quiet, clean and respectful renter. Pets are welcome but should be well trained and quiet. Pets do require an extra monthly fee(s) for pet rent. The house is walking distance to the national forest trails and rivers. This 3 Bedroom 1 bathroom cabin/cottage is right across the road from the river. All 3 bedrooms are large enough to fit king-size beds. There is large real stone wood-burning fireplace and nice hearth in the living room. If you added a wood-stove, it would heat the whole house. We might even have a wood-stove that we'd allow the right renter to install and use at this property. The living room is very large too. There is an outdoor grill built into the house with a real stone chimney that is on the front porch. There is also a screen-porch on the front of the house. This house does need work which is why the price is as low as it already is. The screen-porch does need to new screen... not so much because it has rips or anything, but because it looks old. Two window unit A/C's will be MORE than enough to cool this whole house. It stays very cool due to its location by the creek and all of the shade from the trees all summer long. A/C's are not provided. No smoking either inside or outside and this includes vaping as well. NO exceptions!
Respectful renters will be permitted to fish or swim (on our land only, no trespassing on any neighbors land). You can easily walk to the rivers and trails in the national forest from our land. This property needs work and would be best for a contractor or someone very handy. The price is set for someone to do the work. If we hire someone to finish the house, the rent will be much more per month.
You must make an appointment to see this property. This house is on a private dead-end road. Please do NOT trespass on other properties in the area.
