If it were possible to assign zero stars, I would. My family and I reside on the border of Pharr and South McAllen, and this campus was both the closest option and one that came recommended to us. Unfortunately, our experience has been deeply concerning.My son is of Asian and Mexican heritage, though he appears more Asian, and he has experienced what we believe to be discriminatory treatment. The concerns extend beyond student bullying to interactions involving certain staff members. While there are a few exceptional teachers, the majority have not demonstrated the level of support, engagement, or professionalism that families expect. In several instances, communication from staff has been unprofessional in tone and lacking sensitivity.Additionally, we have encountered significant issues regarding the school’s understanding and implementation of 504 accommodations and appropriate support for students on the autism spectrum. These gaps in knowledge and responsiveness have required me to escalate concerns directly to the district to address matters involving discrimination, favoritism, and compliance with 504 program requirements.Although the principal, Mrs. Ramirez, has been kind in her interactions, concerns raised about staff conduct have not resulted in meaningful accountability, which has been discouraging.Our experience has highlighted serious issues that we believe warrant attention and improvement to ensure all students are treated equitably and supported appropriately.

An amazing school with an outstanding staff and administration!

There are some great teachers at this school. The GT program is pretty good. The staff for the most part has done well to have this school running well. When I say staff, I mean teachers, cafeteria, teacher aides, and cleaning staff, I cannot say much about the the "higher up" administration. I know that in most cases the staff reflects a good leader but in some cases that is not always the case. This school in my opinion is rated average because it lacks structure from the administration and from the lack of parent involvement. Some of the parents don't care for the type of education that their child receive; they see the school as a day care center. The kids need to be held accountable as well as the parents and if that were to happen, this would make it a great school but unfortunately you need a great leader to spear head this project and unfortunately I don't see Dr. King helping out in this issue. Over all as long as your kid has a good teacher that is all that matters so hope that each year your kid gets one other wise good luck for the future of the kids.
