First off, the racism at this school is overbearing and usually goes under the radar by the teachers and administrators you could be called a slur at lunch for just not letting a kid steal a portion of your lunch. If you want them to get in trouble for this then boo Hoo because no one honestly cares especially if they're one of the administrator's favorites, they would never get in trouble. Second all the threats and violence one day there was so many fights not only the police had to be called but we had to have all grades leave the period at sperate times although that was in 6th grade right now, I'm in 8th so maybe it got better? no. Just this year we had a kid set the U building on fire then the other buildings did not evacuate like all the drills said we should then 9 fights broke out 9!!! Thirdly most teachers don't care whatsoever on what kids are doing they could be talking about doing drugs or bombing the school, but no one cares at all. There is a couple good teachers in each grade although sometimes teachers will have charges against them. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI absolutely LOVE this school. My 5th grader has been attending Summerfield Crossings since 3rd grade and my youngest started Kindergarten this year. Principal Harvey is so great with the kids, he knows them by name and is extremely personable. If I ever have a question or concern he is quick to respond to my email and calls if need be with a smile and willingness to discuss. The office staff is equally amazing with the students, when my youngest was home sick multiple staff members asked my oldest if his brother was okay, or said "I missed your brother today". I could not be more impressed with my sons IEP teacher, Mrs. Torpey, she has been instrumental in his improvement in education and truly cares about his needs. She goes above and beyond to connect with him and get him excited about learning (not an easy feat). Ms. Lopez is hands down the best kindergarten teacher, she is great with the kids and goes above and beyond to create a fun learning environment for the students. "Not always dog friendly neighbors, but all in all pretty good for the suburbs. I have ran into more than a few unsocialized dogs that people take to the parks, but I think that can happen anywhere. "

"Don’t live here if you work in downtown Tampa. The traffic on Big Bend onto I75 is horrendous and there are crashes all the time which turn a basic 30 min drive into a regular hour plus commute."

"Area has grown in last 4 years for the better, family area, banking , shops, gas, access in and out pretty good and getting better,park area in subdivision, community pool, playground. adding a hospital,and appears to be ancilliary services also...dentists, exericise places. soon to be more entrance to I-75 n and s...places to practice your religion."

"The previous reviewer does not live in out neighborhood (3.5 miles away). I feel safe at all times. Everyone walks their dogs on leashes and there aren't any stay animals around. This a very pet friendly community. I work in Bradenton and others in my household work in Tampa. This is a great central location for people who work in different communities. The Big Bend area around I-75 has a good deal of project commericial building in the near future. After the "real estate bubble" impact has bottom out, I expect this are to appreciate well. "
