"My commute is to Puyallup, 27 minutes at 10:30 am and I drive, but I used to work in Bellevue, and took public transportation exclusively. It was rough taking 4-5 buses/trains at just under 3 hours each way, but public transportation in Tacoma is great. On time, frequent and usually not too crowded. I say all this coming from LA, where you’re lucky if a bus shows up at all. "
  • Tillerman23
"There are lots of dog owners that walk their dogs. Most pick up after their dogs as well. Mostly family dogs, very few pitbull type dogs. "
  • Trulia User
"This is historic Tacoma Old high end homes and we haven’t seen a lot of kids yet. Mostly older couples"

  • Justinrossrodriguez
"Everyone in this neighborhood is incredibly friendly and looks out for each other. All of our neighbors are very sweet and considerate and invite us to events at their houses often and it’s just a very warm and inviting area to live in. We walk to the Point Ruston farmers market, Point Defiance is right up the road, and it isn’t difficult to get anywhere with the highways so close by. "
  • Serinahood
"Dog walking is a popular activity due to lovely tree lined streets with sidewalks & walking/bike paths. The local Saturday Proctor Market always has families with dogs & kids. "

"I love the North End! My favorite place to live so far! I live in the Proctor area. We see dear sometimes wandering around and on Union and 30th a few times. There are more people walking their dogs and jogging than cars driving the side streets. Proctor street can be busier but go down any side street and its quiet. Also there are parks everywhere "
  • Kward

"Most people keep their dogs restrained, meaning not loose. However there are quite a few in fenced backyards that’ll react as you walk by. WAG is a great dog store and farmers market is open to dogs. "
