I have to give the high rating after an incident involving my daughter was handled swiftly and safely. I was called immediately because a teacher sensed trouble. Danger was averted, but this could have been a tragic event if an adult had not been paying attention!!! Thank you!!!

It seemed to be a wonderful school when my oldest went for K-4. There were fun events and a happy culture! Now my second child is there, and I am not sure what happened. He tells me about his teacher having to spend a lot of time with particular students that do things that I can not believe are allowed. He claims that there are many times when he hears a student yelling "adult" words in the hall. Parents need to do their job of being a role model and instilling values in children before going to school. When I pick him up I recognize some of the staff from years ago, and the demeanors seem so different. No one is smiling. Mrs. Orr was always polite. The principal would be telling us jokes in the cafeteria. We are debating other educational directions. It is very frustrating that we will be potentially paying taxes and private school tuition. Several friends have talked about switching to another school in the district that has much more to offer our children. How can K-5 schools in the same district be so drastically different? Be aware before moving to Waterboro! It is worth doing a little research about what each school does/doesn't provide!

The teachers -for the most part- are kind and very eager to teach their students well. The majority of the students is a whole different story though, however. Gossip is common in this school and this might be of concern to some parents. Besides the gossip, this school is very aimed to be a bully-free place, and I'd say that in general it is a good-intentioned school.
