"Great for beach and retirees and adults. From what I know, the school district isnโ€™t very good."
  • Trulia User
"The bus needs to be on time and be safe for everyone "
  • Jocelyn Pena
"Restaurants, live music, ODU Football and basketball games, community get togethers on Fridays, neighborhood clean up"
  • Jocelyn Pena
"Very supportive and friendly neighbors. Itโ€™s also relatively clean of trash and debris on the streets and yards. Loss of well behaved dogs and their owners."
  • Joyce A Wright
"Most people have dogs and sometimes we know the dogs names before we know each others name... lol I do wish the city would put in a dog park near by, but we do appreciate all our animals"
  • Cecilegervais6199
"It can be a little dangerous in some areas but most places are fine. Winona and Colonial Place are both wonderful quiet neighborhoods."
  • 9q2h9tktfx
"Numerous vibrant art, music, food and Tall Ship festivals throughout the year in Norfolk. Beautiful parks with Master Gardener clubs"
  • 9q2h9tktfx
"Ghent Square is an amazing, wonderful community inside Ghent, near downtown - lots of green spaces and walkable! Lived here for 6 years and love it. "
  • Marcia Neblett
"Very walkable area with a wonderful independent coffee shop, movie theater, restaurants and antique shops. Parking is easily accessible on the street. I lived here several years and rarely had an issue finding parking. "
  • Santosmenop
"Dog owners would like the sidewalks, the ERT and many large old trees that provide shade. It is also safe without a lot of vehicle traffic so you can walk in the road if you want, which many do."
  • Trulia User
"There is a lot of beauty out here, but thereโ€™s also a lot of drama and not the best situations or community vibes all the time but you can find some good people. You just gotta pay attention and good places to."
  • Teamdougsmith
"The neighborhood is very dog walking friendly, and there are a number of dog parks within an easy walk"
  • 65bpz4wm27
"Neighborhood is centrally located, close to airport, beaches, shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, moderate traffic "
  • Vorourke1960
"You can walk to literally everything. Restaurants, Theater, Movies, Groceries, Dry Cleaner, Drug Store, and downtown. Dog friendly and many green spaces."
  • terrell parker
"Im not from here so icant say, only thing ican say is its big, somewhat okay and the people seem chill but most time igo to work and come home"
  • Jayme
"The commute is easy to Virginia Beach, Downtown Norfolk and surrounding areas. I use the Marina often too and love it. Just a short drive a way from the beach or a nice walk. "
  • Phil Spear
"Walkable. Nice architecture. Close to shopping and restaurants. In the firing range of the projects. "
  • Trulia User
"My neighborhood has no events that make it special. This area is a bit dry. I think that the community could improve in that way."
  • RICARDO M COLE
"Nothing. This neighborhood isnโ€™t bad, but it isn't the friendly borrow sugar and invites them to a barbecue neighborhood either. It is a typical mind-your-own-business quiet and safe neighborhood, in my opinion."
  • Darrell87.yelity
"Bus stops are not far from me. The only complaint is I wish there was some seats that you could sit down while waiting on the bus to arrive."
  • Josephine Pope
"There are no parks and no public transportation two ways in and out no community meetings the Main Street has sidewalks the rest donโ€™t.dim st lights"
  • Eric Wiggins
"They are all animal lovers. My Rottweiler is a neighbor hood favorite. Everyone works together to return all animals before calling animal control if animals get loose."
  • Richloe92
"I live here and Iโ€™ve been here for four years and itโ€™s not somewhere I want to continue being at so Iโ€™m looking for somewhere new"
  • 9d8y77tddk
"Best hotspot location for things to do, places to see, food to eat. Commuter lifestyle and busy streets. I still feel safe enough to walk my dog around 10pm and it is especially quiet on weeknights. Weekends are a nightmare. "
  • 9d8y77tddk
"Homeless tend to roam the streets and the weekends are filled with events that pack the streets/vendors with tourists/etc. that are not always safe for children. People ride the scooters on the sidewalk with little to no knowledge on proper etiquette and basic how-to-use."
  • Jacquelinepro67
"Neighbors walk their dogs on the leash and most all clean up after their dogs. There really isnโ€™t much else to say except neighbor and animals are friendly here "
  • Dgonzales2093
"We donโ€™t have any community events in our neighborhood they have school events in the nearby school "
  • Richloe23
"I drive wherever I need to go there are bus stops close by but thatโ€™s about it unless you use Lyft or Uber"
  • Jacquelinepro67
"I really donโ€™t have an answer to this question, my kids are grown raised them in Virginia Beach it seems like a nice quiet place for kids "
  • 9d8y77tddk
"Decent commute to work and the area is central to most locations for grocery, restaurants, military bases, etc. "
  • Jacquelinepro67
"Iโ€™ve lived in Virginia Beach for 30 years ( military took us here) Iโ€™ve never felt so welcome in Virginia since Iโ€™ve moved to this neighborhood in Norfolk, I love it here. Itโ€™s welcoming and all the neighbors keep it very well maintained. Itโ€™s a beautiful area so happy I made the move! "
  • Jlanderson120
"We do not have any community events other than a regular civic association meeting. There are events within the city of Norfolk, but none specific to our neighborhood. Neighbors get together on holidays and frequently have each other over for outdoor fires."
  • Trulia User
"Car only. The light rail did not expand up Hampton blvd. bus service is non existent. Like being in a suburb, you need a car in almost all of Norfolks neighborhoods "
  • Trulia User
"Just an excellent community with well-mannered people and excellent houses and sidewalks. Overall a safe community that I feel comfortable to go on night runs."
  • Trulia User
"No sidewalks for pedestrians, but neighborhood is still walkable. Drivers donโ€™t speed through neighborhood."
  • Trulia User
"We have our Neighborhood cookouts and potlucks monthly at civic league meetings. The neighbors are very welcoming into the community. "
  • Trulia User
"Freemason is such a great area to live. The historic beauty of cobblestone streets and Brownstone buildings, lush green avenues and parks, combined with the the fact that it's only a fee blocks from the hustle of Granby streets restaurants and bars. Not mention the proximity to Town Point Park, Harrison Opera House, and numerous other venues-- all with walking distance. That adds up to HUNDREDS of event options all within .5 miles. Such a great location! We're sorry to move!"
  • Trulia User
"There are a few dog parks in the area and people were genuinely happy to see dog around (depending on the training). People pick after there pets. Besides the dog parks there are great outdoor locations to walk and play with you pet."
  • Trulia User
