I have had two sons attend Danriver middle school, it is a great school with wonderful teachers and staff. It seems they all genuinely care about the students. They need more teacher as the ones they do have are stretched too thin. They teachers I have had opportunity to meet are doing the best they can. Parents can be more involved which would help the teachers. As with any school there is only so much teachers and administrators can do without fear of being labeled as wrong, teachers aren't there to teach kids to be better behaved if parents won't do their jobs and teach respect and manors at home.

The new assistant principle suspended my son off of hear say and said he did an investigation but the only investigation he did was believe the teachers word. I am highly upset in the way my son is automatically accused by the teacher. Some type of stereotype that she is doing constantly and nothing is being done about that. Some kid said a dirty word and she turned around and accused my son. He lost 3 days of school and no chance in making up his work which lowered his grade in the middle of him trying so hard. Again last week the same teacher accused my son of something another student did and she called him out and the student that did it even told the teacher he did it and she didn't say anything to him. My son has not been the best straight A student. However, it has been no conduct or behavior issue that should cause this lady/teacher to continue to harass my son. I'm getting fed up. I went to the school board over a similar issue with selective favoritism involved and nothing was done. Resulting in final say of the individual faculty member at the school. I believe that instead of accusing a child, and down right suspending them, a full investigation should take place. This is wrong. I don't like how my sons grades are affected by someone's accusations. I intend to go further and ask for a teacher parent conference. All I can do is be my sons mother. I am his biggest critic yet his biggest advocate. I will not allow this to continue. I am please with a lot of things with this school but in return this has got to stop!
