This school is a click school. It is all about who you are and who you know at this school. Most of the students parents work at the school and get special treatment and Fort Gibson lets you know that this is how it is and if you do not like it then they basically say go somewhere else. The principle at the IE was so rude to me one time whenever I was in my new car utilizing my hands free device to listen to a voicemail. She literally came up to my door while I was listening to the voicemail in park and she ripped my door open and starting yelling at me to get off the phone. 1st) She had no right to open my door and touch my property like that. 2nd) There is no rule stating in the handbook or anywhere around stating that you could not use your hands free device while in a parent line.(common sense if she had any would have made her realize it's not illegal to drive using your hands free device, everyone utilizes it, I mean that's why they invented it, for this purpose right here). Instead of the superintendent doing his job , when things like this happen , he just takes the staff's side every time and that is the reason this behavior keeps on. If you want a school with a good education, with people who actually care and don't break rules for there staff to cover there butts then don't go here. There are a FEW good people in this school but that is about it.

Fort Gibson used to be a great school when I went there. Now that my children are there, it is a completely different story. Half of the teachers are amazing, while the other half do nothing. Literally nothing. My kids have some classes where they do nothing and get an A just for showing up. They aren't learning anything helpful in those classes, in fact they are learning bad habits. Kids play on their phones all day, sleep on the floor in classrooms, and bullying is really bad. Students are allowed to make up lies and rumors about other students causing the victim to get in trouble, but the school does nothing to the students that are lying and spreading false rumors. The school actually protects these bullies. The administration also keeps punishing all of the kids instead of singling out the ones causing problems. The students are now not allowed to go the bathroom very often because of other students vaping in there. My kids say that they can't even walk into the bathroom without being bombarded with vape fog. It's disgusting. The school does not support the students' mental health at all. The students attend an advocacy class, which is a complete joke. Half the time my kid's advocacy teacher doesn't even speak to his students in the classroom. They all just sit there playing on their phones, then teacher included. On several occasions he has made racist and transgender jokes, as well as derogatory remarks about religion.

Fort Gibson is the worst school I've ever dealt with. They will play kids without talent over the kids with talent in sports just because there parents work at the school or the parents are buddied up with the principal or superintendent. They only care about how much money you have and who you know. The education itself at this school is okay.... but it's the staff that makes this place unbearable.
