Description
Howdy all, I'm renting 1 bedroom in a very cool house in the Heart of the Gorge, 17 minutes from Hood River and 30 minutes from Portland. The place is a nicely appointed 2 story, 3 BR, 2 BA house with tropical hardwood floors, slate entry way, open great room/kitchen floor plan w/stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, Caesar stone countertops (quartz with recycled glass), recycled aluminum subway tile and glass backsplash, cook friendly pot rack, wood burning stove, tons of big windows/light and kick butt views on the Cascade mtns, Columbia River, and the Bridge of the Gods. Besides many construction materials being sustainably sourced and recycled where possible, house has solar panels for power in the summer and woodburning heat for warmth in the winter. I strive to live a sustainable, low impact existence. House also includes large outdoor deck with 4-person hot tub and plenty of space for a grill, large energy efficient front-loader washing machine and dryer, efficient heat pump water heater (GE Geospring) and garage/storage attachment with some space for your gear. The place is fully set up with living room furniture, 55" Flat screen, full size couch, bar stools, dining table, etc. You would be sharing the house with myself and 1 other person. I'm upstairs and there are 2 bedrooms downstairs and another bathroom. You would have use of the second bedroom downstairs. It comes with or without a queen size bed. For your $800 you would be getting your private bedroom, shared full bath room, use of all the common areas, storage space in the garage/storage unit, all utilities including electricity, sewer, water, garbage, Dish TV service with box, broadband internet(100mb/s), and common area cleaning.
A little about me. I'm a young/fun-spirited bachelor who came to the PNW (originally from Texas) to live in the greatest outdoor playground on the planet. I'm recently semi-retired (8 years Army, 18 local government) and now a Forestry student at OSU where I hope to eventually start a career in forestry management. Given school demands I'm generally gone Monday through Friday down in Corvallis.
The other BR downstairs is occupied by Chris. Chris is an easy going guy who works for the Sternwheeler Cruise Line on the Columbia River and has a sweet, new, and super friendly pup, Kahsi.
The house is right in town, all within walking distance of the grocery store, several restaurants including 2 breweries, (Thunder Island and Gorges), the post office, our local coffee shop, and the beach/marina on the Columbia River. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous out here and there is tons to do. Waterfalls, Pacific Crest Trail, and the mighty Columbia are all a short walk or bike ride from the house. Extra points if you're a snowboarder, trail runner, mountain biker, or windsurfer/kiteboarder. Dogs and cats are negotiable for an additional fee. 420 friendly.
All utilities including 100mbs wi-fi included. NS please.
