"Everything is within walking distance I actually can get by without a car although I have one. My commute time is 10 minutes or less"
  • Felicia M.
"You see dogs walking with their owners all the time. And most owners are conscientious about picking up the poop left by their dogs. Monterey is a dog-friendly community. "
  • Felicia M.
"I see many people walk their dogs in the neighborhood. I love dogs and put up a “Pick up your puppy’s poop, please”. Most owners pick up their dog’s poop which I’m grateful for. "
  • Felicia M.
"Large park within walking distance. Lots of people walk their dogs around El Estero Park. Also near the beach and the Recreation Trail. "
  • Mcurtinsax
"This is Old Town Monterey. Spaghetti Hill, settled by Italian fishermen whose founding families ply their trade to this day. The Defense Language Institute above. The small downtown below. The original capital of California. Lots of history and events. Big Sur,Pinnacles, etc. This is Steinbeck country. If you can afford it, it’s great."
  • Mcurtinsax
"My daughter lives with her husband and my ex-wife lives in Sonoma near Morton’s pool. I live in Monterey which is a beautiful area but gets crowded all summer (and much of the rest of the year) with tourists for the many events they offer. When I came out to visit, the older houses and natural areas made me decide to commit to moving out here."
  • Theresa O.
"Close to the wharf and ocean and Monterey Bay Aquarium. Close to exceptional hike and bike trails. Multitude of cultural events —Arts."
  • Fzaidi786
"I love Monterey. It is a beautiful beach town. Grocery n other stuff is so accessible. There is not a lot traffic. "
  • Warrenthek
"I have lived here for several years. Walking access to downtown Monterey is excellent. Good quiet neighborhood. MIIS students love the proximity to the Institute."
