Terrible school. Terrible place and terrible people. Nearly everyone there is fake and pretend to have a good head on their shoulders. Went to school there and lived there for over a decade. The area is nothing but a rat race.

I really appreciate the fact that we have such a supportive community! Our Cheerleaders raised over 4 thousand dollars to supplement the cost of going to NCA Camp at TCU. The cheerleaders "did us proud", and received 2 superior ribbons and 2 spirit stick awards as well as a first place mascot award. Not to mention, We graduated 100% of our students who joined us in 9th grade or sooner. Of those graduates 22 had certifications for welding, 3 got their CNA (nursing assistant), more than 20 graduated with floral design certification. Those are kids certified and JOB READY. They could actually pay for their own college education with these. When you consider that the graduating class is less than 40 students, the percentage of those graduating with job certifications is well over 50%. Lest we forget, the great state of Texas always rates their schools by an assessment where the passing rate for certain math EOCs are less than 60%, in addition to laying the foundation to repair the "loss" students incurred from covid quarantines. Through all of this, Detroit HS has had fantastic scores and students have shown growth in ALL AREAS regardless of whether the met the states standards or not. We have retained an incredible athletic director and coach for the second year. The staff is hardworking, loyal, and genuinely cares about EVERY kid who walks through those doors. Certain Paris news sources RARELY report the full story, and occasionally have reported downright fictitious stories about this district. DO NOT MISS OUT on this small town school.

Although this is a smaller school, it has a lot of great teachers and a wonderful librarian. Those teachers love those children like they are their own!
