"Community Halloween parade, costume judging with prizes from Lions Club; Community Center offers classes, food bank, election polling place; Christmas tree lighting with Christmas carols by students; rubber duck races in creek through town benefiting charity; local library branch offering programs for adults and children; local churches; Lucas is a great place for children to grow up, be educated, participate in sport and extracurricular activities. "This is the Pleasant Valley made famous by author Louis Bromfield, his former home is now Malabar Farm State Park here in the valley. Beautiful in all four seasons."
