"downtown Houston where local events take place, morning in the immediate area, unless it's at the local school."

"Nice place, new management is good & maintenance is usually very quick to repair or replace any issues. I rate a 8 out of 10 but overall satisfied with my stay here. "

"This neighborhood is very transitional and there are areas of new construction with other areas that still need restoring. The location is great for access to all the major freeways. There are no deals but property values are increasing. "

"People love to walk their dogs in the Greater Heights. I never had to get a Dog because I could just love everyone else’s. The Heights is the most sought out area for a reason! It’s absolutely perfect. Being a transplant from Alabama, I’m no stranger to small towns, but honestly it’s like a big city with a small town vibe! The Heights is one of Houston’s greatest treasures. I’m excited to see how the up-an-coming Independent Heights will fair. I personally think it’s potential is limitless, if the LGBTQ Community got together and bought property as a group, then it could be the New Montrose. Just food for thought, either way it’s going to be epic! I am currently looking to buy 4 lots in the Independent Heights. Making 3 duplexes with garage apartments. Trying to keep the architecture up to date with the style. American Town Houses. New Orleans style inspired. "

"I rent in the Northside. Definitely an upward trending zip code. Still has some rough spots. Lots of stray dogs, not well maintained roads, loud neighbors. Not quite residential yet "

"Edgy, but peaceful with friendly neighbors, large yards, charming mid-century architecture , downtown views and well connected. Buy now before The Woodlands and Kingwood millenials start their gentrifying march on over!"

"Edgy, but peaceful and very green with large yards, friendly neighbors, downtown views and super connected. Buy now before the rest of The Woodlands and Kingwood millenials make their march on over. "

"In all reality this is the HOOD. Juan Flores was brutally murdered here on his way home from school and hits murderer has yet to be brought to justice. You've got a homeless shelter, a handful of halfway houses for newly released criminals of different kinds, drug dealers and what comes with that (prostitution, theft, squatting, gang violence in and out of the schools), oh and its walking distance from 3 jailhouses & a federal prison, it's a dangerous place. Gentrification will only take care of one of those issues. "

"Metro rail is nearby and my primary means of transportation at this time. It is easy, predictable, and reliable 95% of the time (exception being when debris is on the rail)."

"The area has improved, but the metro rail was the worst thing that could happen to the area, the city for that matter."

"Even though the area is not known as the safest, I haven’t had to worry about the safety of my property, my family or me. It’s very calm. The metro rail looks nice, it may be the slowest mean of mass transportation in history, and the biggest obstruction of traffic, in the city, but at least it looks nice. "

"Entertainment is only 15 min away - theater district; Metrorail was just built and in service now takes you directly through downtown and Med center; usually no traffic to med center in the am because of all the traffic being outside of the 610 loop.. "

"Quickly becoming revitalized with the metro train to downtown Houston just 2 blocks away, this quaint neighborhood is quiet with a large yard."
