I attended Commack High School and felt very well prepared for college. My college classes actually seemed easier than my high school coursework. Overall there was an great assortment of extra-curricular activities.

As a student of this school, I feel compelled to share my perspective on the educational experience I received here. While there were undoubtedly positive aspects, there were also significant shortcomings that need addressing. One such critical issue is bullying, a pervasive problem that can profoundly affect its victims.Throughout my time at the school, I observed instances of bullying, particularly within groups of girls who seemed to target specific individuals. Despite the awareness raised by the school's leadership, including the principal, vice principal, counselors, and psychologists, effective intervention and support mechanisms seemed lacking.Bullying is a serious concern that warrants immediate attention and robust action. It not only undermines the well-being and confidence of those subjected to it but also creates a hostile and unsafe environment for all students. While it's commendable that the school acknowledges the importance of addressing bullying, there appears to be a gap between rhetoric and action.It's crucial for schools to implement comprehensive anti-bullying policies and ensure that students feel safe and supported. This includes fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusivity, as well as providing accessible avenues for reporting incidents and seeking help.To any student currently experiencing bullying or witnessing it happening to others, I urge you not to suffer in silence. Reach out to trusted adults, family members, or external support organizations for assistance. Remember, you deserve to learn and thrive in an environment free from harassment and intimidation. Together, we can work towards creating a school community where every student feels valued and protected.
