I have given this school three years to prove me wrong and they haven’t. My child has a 504 plan due to a processing speed delay that was identified in 6th grade. They qualify for AP and honors courses. Prior to the administrative changes between 2024-2025 we might have been getting somewhere positive, but the freshman year of HS has made me question whether this is a school that will help him excel long-term. There is zero communication from teachers and staff despite repeated requests. They make promises for tutoring and parent communication that they don’t keep. A teacher escalated a situation to the principal regarding plagiarism that was completely unfounded and I only learned about it through my child, not the school. They leave the front door open and have had multiple issues with student safety that they do not address. Bullying is not addressed ever. This is the only public school my child is able to attend given our residence and I am afraid both for their grades and safety every morning I put them on the bus. If you have other options outside of this school take them. It is not worth the constant fighting with the school and the local school board to even engage and send your kid to this school. If my child wasn’t enjoying band I would pull him out and home school immediately. Terrible administration.

My son was taking medicine for ADHD the medicine began to have adverse affects on him so i removed him from the medicine. I was told by the teacher that my child would be barred from attending the school and would not be able to advance to the next grade unless i forced him to take his medicine even against doctors orders! My child is not a danger to himself his class mates or his teachers but because he has to be reminded to stay on task, he has be expelled. the school really needs to re-evaluate its values!
