My two children went all three years (6-8) and felt supported and were encouraged to learn. The principal is within the student body daily and makes it a point to connect with all students. The teachers meet weekly to find ways to help individuals grow in their development and many took the time to get to know my children personally outside of the subject they teach. They have curriculum for social/emotional growth and core classes aligned with state standards and hold students to a higher standard. That being said, it's up to the students to decide to participate in their learning, you of course are going to have a few that don't want to. As a parent, making sure my kids had materials, studied and brought a charged laptop everyday made the school's job easier. Students are able to take many elective classes on both the middle school and high school campuses and anyone interested in going into the trades instead of college or military can graduate with their CDL and plenty of hands on experience that starts in 7th grade (if the family/student chooses to participate). Though our time at LMS was not perfect (no school is) our children excelled because we used the tools as parents that the school gave us to partner with them, to help keep our kids on track. I could see grades, assignments and upcoming information with a couple of clicks and staff responded quickly to my emails. It takes a village to raise em! I had a great experience as a parent and though I'm sure at the time my kids didn't like that I could check up on them easily... I'm sure they appreciate it now that they've graduated and have doors of many opportunities open to them thanks to their roots at LMS.
